Ticket issue
On its official website, FAS announced: “This is an important statement for all away team fans. We will not be selling tickets at Jalan Besar Stadium as originally planned. Instead, tickets will be allocated through the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).”
According to sources from Thanh Nien newspaper, the regulations of the Southeast Asian Football Federation (AFF) stipulate that for each home match, the football federation of the home team must allocate 8% of the total number of tickets sold by that federation.
The Vietnamese national team trained on the artificial turf at Jurong Stadium on December 24th.
The Jalan Besar Stadium has 6,000 seats, but the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) announced that only 3,000 will be sold. The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) is assisting two fan clubs in Vietnam (the Northern Supporters' Club – VFS and Vietnam Golden Star – VGS) in registering to purchase tickets, and according to the FAS, they will only approve a total of 70 tickets for these two clubs. The VFF will not be able to intervene in the ticket purchases of Vietnamese fans working and living in Singapore.
Preview of the Singapore vs. Vietnam match: Will Xuan Son continue to shine?
To prepare for the first leg of the semi-final match, the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) initially announced that it would allocate approximately 300 tickets to Vietnamese fans and around 5,700 tickets to Singaporean fans. However, for some unknown reason, the FAS changed its ticket allocation plan, giving Vietnam the aforementioned number, a decision that even the Singaporean media commented was quite unexpected.
