On the afternoon of February 17, information from Nghe An General Hospital said that the hospital had worked with authorities and widely posted information on social networks to find relatives for an old man who had been hospitalized for 15 days after a traffic accident.
Previously, at around 7:40 a.m. on February 3, Nghe An General Hospital received a male patient over 65 years old from a 115 ambulance. The patient did not have any identification documents or a mobile phone for contact.
Through initial investigation, the old man had a bicycle accident in Nghi Van commune, Nghi Loc district, Nghe An.
At the time of hospitalization, the old man was diagnosed with traumatic brain injury, left frontal hematoma, bilateral frontotemporal brain contusion, bilateral parietal bone fractures, and lethargy.
Doctors performed surgery, put the patient on a ventilator and provided intensive treatment.
Immediately after the patient was admitted to the hospital, the hospital tried many ways to find relatives for the old man but to no avail.
After 15 days of treatment, the old man no longer needs a ventilator and his health has improved, but he still cannot remember his family's address or relatives.
The head of the surgical resuscitation department said the hospital is paying all the treatment costs for the old man and hopes the community will share to soon find his relatives.
