On October 2, Quang Ninh Provincial Police said that Quang Yen Town Police had just received and handed over a large loris (a wild animal, an endangered, precious, rare species that needs to be preserved) to the Center for Rescue, Conservation and Development of Organisms in Cuc Phuong National Park (Ninh Binh Province).

Previously, the large loris was discovered by Mr. Bui Duc Thang, an employee of Truong Thanh Joint Stock Company in Dong Mai Industrial Park (Dong Mai Ward, Quang Yen Town, Quang Ninh) in the company's premises at around 11:00 p.m. on September 29, so he voluntarily handed it over to the authorities.
It is known that the above mentioned giant loris has the scientific name Nycticebus coucang, belonging to group IB. In the world and in Vietnam, giant loris are classified as endangered, precious, rare, and endangered forest animals, so they are on the list of protected species and are strictly prohibited from illegal exploitation, capture, captivity, and use for commercial purposes.
On September 30, after receiving the large loris, Quang Yen Town Police handed it over to the Rescue, Conservation and Development Center for Organisms - Cuc Phuong National Park for care, nurturing and carrying out procedures for releasing it into the natural environment according to the provisions of law.
