Cristiano Ronaldo has just created his own YouTube channel called UR - Cristiano Ronaldo at around 8pm on August 21, Vietnam time. This channel was launched unexpectedly but has already had 19 videos uploaded for fans to watch. More surprisingly, the number of followers of the Portuguese superstar's channel has increased rapidly, with 15.1 million subscribers at the time of writing.
Reaching 10 million subscribers has brought Cristiano Ronaldo the Diamond button on YouTube. Previously, his channel also reached 1 million subscribers after only 90 minutes of broadcasting, equivalent to a football match and making him the fastest person to reach this milestone. Thus, in just a few hours, Ronaldo has continuously changed the color of the YouTube button from Silver to Gold and most recently to Diamond.
While it is not yet known exactly how much Ronaldo earns from the social media platform due to the ever-changing landscape of his videos, there is information that suggests the staggering amount he earns. At the time of writing, the channel has over 15 million subscribers and that number continues to grow at a rapid pace.
According to Thinkific, a YouTube creator can earn between $2 and $12 for every 1,000 views on the platform. This equates to about $0.002 to $0.012 per view. For every 1 million views, people on YouTube can earn between $1,200 and $6,000. There have been around 48 million views on the channel, which means that Ronaldo pocketed the money after half a day on social media.
Advertisers pay a fixed price to YouTube, with creators pocketing 45% and the platform itself earning the remaining 55%. All of Ronaldo's videos have had over 1 million views, meaning Ronaldo will make a significant amount of money from advertising alone.
Ronaldo took to social media X to show off his recent YouTube Gold Play Button, and not only was he happy about the achievement, but his children were also enjoying the moment in a short clip. Ronaldo added a message thanking his fans, saying: “Thank you to all the subscribers SIUUU!” It’s not yet known how often videos will be posted to the YouTube channel, but if it’s the first day, fans can expect plenty of content related to one of the most famous football players on the planet.
