According to the Ministry of Health 's Covid-19 prevention and control bulletin, on May 26, Vietnam recorded 1,043 new cases, a decrease of more than 100 cases compared to the previous day.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, Vietnam has recorded 11,608,697 cases, ranking 13th out of 231 countries and territories. In terms of the number of cases per million people, Vietnam ranks 120th out of 231 countries and territories (an average of 117,315 cases per million people).
The number of patients declared recovered today was 265, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 10,637,138.
There are 50 patients currently receiving oxygen, including: 41 receiving oxygen via face mask; 6 receiving high-flow non-invasive oxygen therapy (HFNC); 1 receiving non-invasive mechanical ventilation; and 2 receiving invasive mechanical ventilation.

No deaths were recorded on May 26th. The total number of deaths due to Covid-19 in Vietnam to date is 43,206, representing 0.4% of the total number of infections.
The total number of deaths ranks 26th out of 231 territories, and the number of deaths per million population ranks 141st out of 231 countries and territories worldwide . Compared to Asia, the total number of deaths ranks 7th out of 50 (3rd in ASEAN), and the number of deaths per million population ranks 29th out of 50 Asian countries and territories (5th in ASEAN).
On May 25th, 1,961 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine were administered. Thus, the total number of vaccine doses administered is 266,403,148, including: 223,735,960 doses for people aged 18 and over: 70,909,134 doses of the first dose; 68,455,611 doses of the second dose; 14,344,115 doses of the booster dose; 52,131,688 doses of the first booster dose; and 17,895,412 doses of the second booster dose.
The total number of doses for children aged 12-17 years is 23,965,543: 9,130,889 doses for the first dose; 9,021,366 doses for the second dose; and 5,813,288 doses for the first booster dose.
The total number of doses for children aged 5-11 years is 18,701,645: Dose 1 is 10,227,624 doses; Dose 2 is 8,474,021 doses.
