Logistics Park applies the latest technology On December 11, Viettel inaugurated the Logistics Park in Lang Son, a project that began in July 2024 and was completed and put into operation at a record speed. This is the first logistics park with the largest and most modern infrastructure in Vietnam. Viettel Logistics Park covers an area of 143.7 hectares, with a total investment of nearly VND 3,300 billion, capable of handling 1,500 vehicles per day (twice the current capacity). With a synchronous infrastructure, this is the first logistics center in Vietnam to provide a complete import-export logistics service chain from customs clearance, quarantine, inspection, loading, warehousing to cross-border transportation. The data system at the park will also be standardized and directly connected to Vietnam and China customs data, ensuring optimized operation processes, reducing customs clearance processing time from 4-5 days to less than 24 hours, and reducing customs clearance costs by 30-40%. Right from the design stage, Viettel has cooperated with the General Department of Customs, the Management Board of Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone and international consulting partners to ensure modern, synchronous and international standard operations for the project. This will become the first logistics center in Vietnam, providing professional, comprehensive import-export logistics services including: customs clearance, quarantine, inspection, transshipment, warehousing, transportation and cross-border transportation. Speaking at the event, Mr. Ho Tien Thieu, Chairman of Lang Son Provincial People's Committee, said that Lang Son plays a strategic gateway role connecting trade between Vietnam and China, with its geographical location adjacent to the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region - China's leading agricultural logistics center and 5 northern provinces of Vietnam. Not only is it an important domestic transit point, Lang Son is also a trade bridge between ASEAN and China. When Viettel Lang Son Logistics Park completes its investment and comes into operation, it promises to bring optimal efficiency to the transportation of Vietnamese export goods, solve the overload situation at border gates, shorten customs clearance time, and contribute to making Lang Son a foundation for national logistics infrastructure.Mr. Ho Tien Thieu, Chairman of Lang Son Provincial People's Committee, said that Lang Son plays a strategic gateway role connecting trade between Vietnam and China. Major General Tran Dinh Thang, Director of the Department of Economics, Ministry of National Defense, said that Viettel Logistics Park contributes to promoting import and export activities in the area, in line with reality and feasibility to continue to complete the strategic task of contributing with the Government to promote the rapid and sustainable development of Vietnam's logistics industry, reduce transportation costs, improve efficiency and service quality, thereby enhancing Vietnam's competitiveness in the international arena. In the coming time, Vietnam's logistics industry will have many high-quality and strongly developing logistics centers, in which the Viettel Logistics Park model in Lang Son, which opened today, will play an important role, creating a premise for forming and replicating this model nationwide. Mr. Tran Dinh Thang said that he will direct Viettel to have logistics projects like the one in Lang Son deployed nationwide, to promote economic development.Viettel Logistics Park has an area of 143.7 hectares, with a total investment of nearly VND3,300 billion, capable of handling 1,500 customs clearance vehicles per day. Speaking at the opening ceremony of Viettel Logistics Park, Mr. Tao Duc Thang, Chairman of Viettel, said that not stopping at digital space, Viettel will now use technology to develop more strongly physical connections in the real world. This is important in transforming values from digital space into practical values, helping goods and economic resources circulate quickly and effectively. Smart logistics infrastructure will ensure the supply chain operates effectively, optimizes time and costs, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of Vietnamese enterprises in the global market. Thus, Viettel has formed important foundations of the digital economy. The telecommunications platform is likened to the nervous system; the digital financial platform is like blood vessels, the cybersecurity platform is like the immune system, the logistics platform is like the circulatory system, digital applications are like specialized organs and senses. When combining all these factors, Vietnam's digital economy will become a living, efficient body, creating a modern, sustainable and comprehensive digital economy. "In the coming time, Viettel will complete the network of logistics centers nationwide, serving key economic regions with 5 orientations: Smart border gates; Agricultural logistics center; Logistics center in industrial parks; Supply chain infrastructure; Multimodal transport network; Creating a smart, automated, multimodal logistics ecosystem, from road, rail, waterway to aviation, contributing to making Vietnam an important logistics center of the region, implementing the spirit of the resolution of the Party Central Committee that emphasized the role of logistics infrastructure in connecting and improving the efficiency of the economy," said Mr. Tao Duc Thang. Automation and AI applications help customs clearance 3 times faster. Mr. Le Tuan Anh, Deputy General Director of Viettel Post, said that the Logistics Park was built with the most advanced technologies including a combination of automation applications, AI... and minimal human intervention in the process, to improve operational capacity, shorten time to ensure goods safety. Currently, the Logistics Park has 10 core technology systems such as robots, self-driving cars, automatic delivery drones... researched, assembled and mastered by Viettel. The park has main subdivisions including: interdisciplinary building - Operation Center (NOC) is the workplace of functional agencies such as Vietnam Customs, China Customs, border guards, quarantine, banks, and taxes. At the same time, this is also the "brain" center of Viettel Logistics Park - monitoring and coordinating all activities in the park through data from the TMS transportation management system, the WMS smart warehouse management system, and data from more than 2,000 AI ultraview cameras installed throughout the campus. NOC uses Digital Twin technology, digitizing data from IoT devices, helping to monitor the performance and flow of goods and vehicles, while predicting traffic and warning of potential incidents. With an optimal operational design, combined with modern technology, Viettel Logistics Park can handle customs clearance of up to 1,500 vehicles/day, contributing to doubling the customs clearance capacity at Lang Son border gate compared to the present. Mr. Le Tuan Anh said that the Smart Gate area integrates a vehicle flow system, image processing technology and artificial intelligence to actively recognize license plates, container codes and driver biometric data, increasing vehicle processing and customs clearance speed by 3 times compared to traditional methods. With a 6-dimensional automatic X-Ray screening system, it supports accurate detection of dangerous items, prohibited imports and trade fraud, ensuring security for both the country and the international market without having to open containers. In the automatic loading area, telescopic conveyors are used instead of direct labor, helping to reduce the transfer time between 2 containers to only 30-40 minutes instead of 3 hours as in the traditional method. The e-commerce and express delivery processing area uses an autonomous AGV robot system owned by Viettel Post, combined with the DWS automatic identification and classification system, an automatic screening system capable of monitoring, checking, and clearing 600,000 parcels/day. The exhibition and livestream area is a space for organizing trade promotion activities, introducing products and services, and promoting e-commerce through livestreams promoting products on online platforms, helping businesses connect directly with the global market.Mr. Le Tuan Anh, Deputy General Director of Viettel Post, said that the Logistics Park was built with the highest level of technology with automation applications, AI... forming a technology complex. “We feel pain every time our agricultural products are damaged due to border congestion. A container of dragon fruit or watermelon costs 200-300 million VND but costs up to 100 million VND in transportation costs. Sometimes they are damaged due to border congestion and the price is forced down to a few thousand VND/kg, so farmers cry over their products. Items such as fruit must go through many safety checks before being exported to China. In the old way, it took 3 to 4 days or even longer to clear a regular container, but with Logistics Park it will only take 24 hours,” said Mr. Hoang Trung Thanh. According to the General Director of Viettel Post, in reality, Vietnam's logistics costs are still high, which is a major obstacle for the import and export of goods, especially agricultural products. Therefore, if Viettel succeeds in this field, it will help the economy, especially Vietnamese agricultural products, reduce customs clearance time, reduce costs and avoid damage; it will help millions of Vietnamese farmers export agricultural products to foreign markets. Viettel chose Lang Son to build a Logistics Park with the goal of solving the problem of border congestion, causing damage to agricultural products. This will be the place to mark Viettel's official participation in building a national Logistics infrastructure, professional and effective, helping goods circulate quickly at reduced costs. Answering the question of how Viettel Post will continue to implement the upcoming Logistics Park model? Mr. Hoang Trung Thanh said: Vietnam has the geographical potential to become a Logistics center connecting ASEAN with China by road, rail and air. Therefore, Viettel will build more Logistics Parks at road and air border gates, traffic hubs, agricultural product trading and distribution centers... Currently, Viettel has completed procedures to invest abroad and is cooperating with Chinese corporations to implement business plans in the near future.Source: https://vietnamnet.vn/cong-vien-logistics-se-giup-hang-trieu-ho-nong-dan-xuat-khau-nong-san-2351033.html
