Ha Giang Lottery Company was established on March 24, 1995, formerly the Lottery Board under the Department of Finance and Prices of Ha Giang province. The total staff assigned in the early days was 5 people, with a small initial capital of 14.2 million VND. With the will and determination to rise up of the collective leadership and staff through the periods, Ha Giang Lottery Company has gradually affirmed its role as a 100% state-owned enterprise.

Ha Giang Lottery Company was established on March 24, 1995, formerly known as the Lottery Board.

The development process of the Company can be divided into 3 stages. Specifically, in the period from 1995 to 2004, this is the initial stage, the Lottery Board was established with limited human resources. The agency system with over 20 agents selling lottery tickets, the Northern Lottery operating area was issued in Ha Giang town. The total revenue from lottery activities in the first 10 years was 39.7 billion VND. The state budget was paid 600 million VND/year.

Ha Giang Lottery Company has gradually affirmed its role as a 100% state-owned enterprise.

During the period from 2005 to 2009, Ha Giang Lottery Company was established under Decision No. 101 dated January 2, 2005 under the direct management of Ha Giang Provincial People's Committee. During this period, the Company was challenged by many changes, newly established, operating independently. During the period from 2010 to present, the Company has undergone comprehensive changes in organization and management and operation. The Company's total revenue during the period reached 1,300 billion VND, an increase of 34 times compared to the period from 1995 to 2004. The budget contribution reached 286 billion VND. Up to now, the average income of agents has reached 3.5 million VND/agent/month. Lottery activities also create jobs for over 400 local workers.
