Environmental protection is identified by Nghi Son Thermal Power Company as one of the key factors that go hand in hand with production and business tasks; therefore, the Company always does a good job of building a green - clean - beautiful - safe working environment, for the goal of sustainable development.

The representative of Nghi Son Thermal Power Company said that in order to meet the increasingly high requirements in environmental protection, in addition to regular maintenance and repair to ensure the operational efficiency of the systems and to avoid subjective incidents, the Company has invested in installing automatic monitoring systems, continuously monitoring to meet the requirements of Decrees and Circulars for systems such as: exhaust fumes, industrial wastewater, cooling water, domestic wastewater, and camera surveillance systems. Thanks to that, the results of monitoring and supervising environmental parameters are all within the allowable limits and ensure no violations of environmental protection regulations.

Environmental indicators are displayed on a large LED board hanging in front of the main gate of the Factory, ensuring publicity, transparency, information dissemination to all people, as well as transmitting data to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Thanh Hoa province for monitoring.

Implementing Decision No. 452/QD-TTg, dated April 12, 2018 of the Prime Minister on Approval of the Project to promote, use and consume ash, slag and gypsum of thermal power plants, chemical plants, fertilizer plants as construction materials and other construction works, Nghi Son Thermal Power Company has signed an investment cooperation contract with the consuming unit, Minh Phong Investment Joint Stock Company ( Hanoi ). Fly ash, bottom slag and gypsum are processed and consumed by Minh Phong Company to produce cement, concrete additives and produce aggregate concrete bricks and tunnel bricks.

Since 2018, 100% of fly ash and gypsum have been processed and consumed. Due to some subjective and objective difficulties, 100% of slag output will only be processed in 2021. The company is continuing to coordinate with the purchasing unit to expand the market, promote consumption, and strive to exploit and reduce inventory to achieve the goals set by the state, EVN and EVNGENCO1.

Along with that, the Company focuses on promoting propaganda and mobilization to raise awareness and responsibility of employees in environmental protection through many forms such as: propaganda, visual agitation (banners, slogans, billboards, posters, mobile propaganda); propaganda on mass media. At the same time, promulgate regulations and sanctions to strictly handle employees as well as contractors when violating the Company's environmental protection regulations.

The work of green - clean - beautiful - safe at the workplace is always maintained and implemented regularly. Every year, the Company organizes tree planting, each year choosing an area within the Factory to plant trees, creating green "walls", both creating landscape, blocking dust, and forming a green isolation area between the Factory and residential areas. Up to now, almost the entire vacant land of the Factory has been covered with green trees.
