The Food Safety Department, Ministry of Health has just issued a decision to impose an administrative penalty on Vinh Dien Pharmaceutical Production Company Limited, whose head office address on the Business Registration Certificate is in Dan Phuong district, Hanoi.
The company used banned substances Sildenafil and Sibutramine in the production and processing of 3 functional foods.
The company violated a total of 6 acts and was fined more than 11 billion VND. This includes violating regulations on mandatory content on product labels for the health protection food product Bo Hoan Duong Plus (Lot number: 02.2022, Manufacturing date: 11/5/2022, Expiry date: 10/5/2025). The total value of the violated goods is more than 307 million VND.
In particular, this company used the banned substances Sildenafil and Sibutramine in the production and processing of 3 functional foods: Health protection food Bo Hoan Duong Plus (batch number: 02.2022, manufacturing date: May 11, 2022, expiry date: May 10, 2025); Stony kidney tonic product to enhance physiology (batch number: 03.2022, manufacturing date: May 12, 2022, expiry date: May 11, 2025); health protection food: Slim apple cider vinegar to support weight loss (batch number: 01.2022, manufacturing date: February 26, 2022, expiry date: February 25, 2025).
This company was also suspended from producing health protection foods for 11 months from March 1; the right to use the Certificate of Registration of the Declaration of Health Protection Food Product Bo Hoan Duong Plus was revoked for 22 months from the date of receiving the Decision.
The Food Safety Department also requested the company to take remedial measures such as recalling and destroying violating foods including the following products: Health protection food: Bo Hoan Duong Plus (Lot number: 02.2022, Manufacturing date: May 11, 2022, Expiry date: May 10, 2025)
The company must recall and destroy health protection foods: Slim apple cider vinegar to support weight loss (batch number: 01.2022, manufacturing date: February 26, 2022, expiry date: February 25, 2025) and Stony kidney tonic product to enhance physiology (batch number: 03.2022, manufacturing date: May 12, 2022, expiry date: May 11, 2025)
In addition, the company must recall and change the purpose of use/recycle or destroy the violating food for Kumiko slim food products and Nio Slim weight loss support products.
