Tuyen Quang Electricity Company is currently managing 286,865 electricity customers. Of which, 249,157 are customers buying electricity for domestic purposes; 37,708 are customers buying electricity for non-domestic purposes. Currently, Tuyen Quang Electricity Company has deployed electronic service provision and level 4 online service reaching 100%. All stages of the service are performed via the network environment, from receiving service requests to signing contracts (performed by receiving OTP codes via text messages, instead of signing papers as before).
Along with that, the Company has cooperated with banks in the province (BIDV, Vietinbank, Agribank , VCB, MB, Lienvietpostbank...) and intermediary organizations (Post Office, Viettel, Payoo, VNPay, VNPT-Media, Vimo, Momo...) in collecting electricity bills through electronic payment gateways. With these efforts, by the end of March, there were 247,097/287,901 customers using non-cash payment for electricity, reaching a rate of 85.83%. Of which, the number of customers paying electricity bills through intermediary payment organizations was 134,464 customers, accounting for 46.70%; the number of customers paying electricity bills through banks was 112,633 customers, reaching 39.14%.
Yen Son Electricity currently has more than 43,000 electricity customers, with 98 collection points and nearly 100 collectors from the Post Office and the Electricity Business Support Service Team. However, cash collection in the past has revealed many shortcomings, especially in remote areas such as: People from remote villages have to travel long distances to get to the collection point, in many cases the electricity bill is only a few tens of thousands but still have to travel, wasting time, costing money and not ensuring traffic safety. The collection staff is thin, the number of collection days is limited, not meeting the demand, causing people to wait in line, even when they arrive, the staff has already left. The high backlog of electricity bills causes difficulties in debt collection, affecting the business targets of the Electricity Company.
Mr. Tran Van Nep, Director of Yen Son Power Company, said that with the goal of 100% of customers paying for electricity without cash, Yen Son Power Company has developed a specific plan. From April to June 2025, the power company will coordinate with Agribank, Vietinbank, Vietcombank and Viettel to arrange staff at existing collection points and go to villages and households to support people in opening bank accounts, instructing them on how to use e-wallets and pay electricity bills online. For customers who already have an account, power company staff will provide specific instructions on how to use the banking app to enter the customer payment code, or register for automatic debit - a convenient, safe and time-saving form.
Mr. Tran Xuan Hao, Deputy Director of Tuyen Quang Electricity Company, affirmed that the removal of traditional electricity bill collection counters and the switch to cashless electricity bill collection is an inevitable trend, in line with local development, and the implementation in the province has been highly accepted by customers.
Currently, the Company and its affiliated Power Companies are actively promoting the policy of eliminating traditional electricity bill collection points and replacing them with cashless electricity bill payments. At the same time, they are stepping up coordination, resolving, supporting, and consulting with banks and intermediary organizations to encourage customers to open bank accounts and e-wallets for convenient online payments.
Eliminating traditional electricity bill collection points and promoting cashless payments is not only a goal in the process of building an e-business but also contributes to modernizing services and improving customer service quality. At the same time, this is also a practical action in the digital transformation process of the electricity industry and the province, bringing convenience, safety and transparency in payment to people.
