According to a report by Tuyen Quang Power Company, by the end of September 2024, the company had installed 263,901 electronic meters of all types out of a total of 283,208 meters currently operating on the grid, representing 93.18% (of which 221,370 meters have been installed for remote metering, reaching 78.2%). With the goal of achieving 100% installation by the end of 2025, the meters in this system will be automatically and remotely read via a computer system to minimize manual meter reading for customers. This will streamline the meter reading process, ensure accuracy in recording electricity consumption and generating electricity bills for customers, minimize errors due to human error, and reduce the risk of workplace accidents during meter reading.
Electricity workers in Na Hang are installing electronic electricity meters for customers in the area.
Furthermore, based on a modern information database platform, customers can access electricity services anytime, anywhere, via the Customer Service Center hotline 19006769 to submit requests for electricity services, or they can log in to the customer service website of the Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC) at http://cskh.npc.com.vn, the National Public Service Portal http://www.dichvucong.gov.vn, or install the EVNNPC.CSKH app on their smartphones to use all electricity services online. With these conveniences, in the first nine months of 2024, the percentage of customers paying electricity bills without using cash in the province reached 80.97%.
Mr. Tran Xuan Hao, Deputy Director of Tuyen Quang Power Company, said: "Installing electronic meters with remote measurement capabilities, in addition to benefits for customers, also helps the power industry reduce the number of workers needed to record meter readings, contributing to increased labor productivity. With frequent data collection, power industry employees can easily monitor the operating parameters of each metering point, including current, voltage, overcurrent, full load, phase imbalance, etc., thereby developing timely solutions, minimizing incidents, ensuring safe power supply, and improving reliability in power supply."
The Tuyen Quang Power Company has instructed its subordinate power branches to pay attention to monitoring meter readings, issuing invoices, and receiving customer feedback regarding the electronic metering system. At the same time, it has instructed power branches to carefully check customers' electricity consumption readings before issuing invoices; and to conduct follow-up checks on customers whose electricity consumption increases or decreases by 30% or more compared to the previous month, in order to avoid errors due to subjective factors…
Furthermore, in cases where customers have questions or require verification of electronic meters showing a sudden increase in electricity consumption, the electricity sector will send personnel to their homes to check for meter errors and the customer's electricity usage. This allows for timely resolution of requests and ensures the rights of electricity customers are protected.
The efforts of Tuyen Quang Power Company in deploying electronic electricity meters demonstrate a rapid transformation in the approach to managing and operating the power system, shifting from a manual to a semi-automatic model. This contributes to improving the quality of business services, aiming for customer satisfaction, and serving the socio-economic development of the locality.
