Implementing the roadmap of Vietnam Electricity Group, by 2025, it will complete meter readings on the last day of the month for all electricity customers.
The change in meter reading schedule to the end of the month is implemented to improve customer service quality, meet the roadmap for modernizing the metering system , recording readings and making electricity bills for both electricity sellers and electricity buyers.
For customers, changing the index recording date to the last day of the month helps customers easily remember, check and monitor electricity consumption index according to the correct number of days in the month (from the 1st to the last day of the month).
To avoid disruptions in production and business activities, in line with the roadmap for modernizing metering equipment, Ninh Binh Electricity Company will change the meter reading schedule to the last days of the month for customers who have signed an agreement. In 2023, the change will only be made once with the number of days changed not exceeding 10 days compared to the previous meter reading schedule.
Ninh Binh Power Company will coordinate with customers to sign an addendum to the electricity purchase and sale contract to agree to change the meter reading schedule from October 2023 through its affiliated Power Companies and implement the change in reading date in 2023.
During the month of changing the meter reading schedule, the electricity bill will be calculated based on the actual electricity usage recorded on the meter.
For customers purchasing electricity for domestic use (applying the step-by-step electricity price), the amount of electricity consumed on additional days due to the shift in meter reading date is still calculated according to the step corresponding to the number of additional days, so it does not affect the customer's rights, as stipulated in Circular No. 16/2014/TT-BCT, Circular 09/2023/TT-BCT and the decision on the current electricity price list . In the following months, the number of days of electricity use will return to normal.
