Lai Chau Electricity Company strives to modernize the power grid

(BLC) - With specific solutions, Lai Chau Power Company (PC Lai Chau) has effectively deployed investment capital to modernize the power grid under its management. Thereby, improving the reliability of power supply to serve people's electricity needs, actively contributing to socio -economic development, ensuring national defense and security in the province.

Mr. Tran Kim Long - Deputy Director of PC Lai Chau said: Up to now, with the attention of the Party, the State and Vietnam Electricity Group with many resources, PC Lai Chau has completed the target of 97% of households using the national grid according to the Resolution of the 14th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025. Determined to complete the targets and improve the quality of the power grid system serving the people, PC Lai Chau proactively consulted with the Provincial People's Committee, Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC) to flexibly utilize resources to implement grid modernization projects, improving the reliability of power supply in the area.

In the first months of 2023 alone, Lai Chau PC has completed the project to improve the reliability of power supply for the districts: Nam Nhun, Muong Te, Phong Tho, Lai Chau city with a total investment of over 14 billion VND. Notably, last April, Lai Chau PC continued to be assigned the investment portfolio by EVNNPC according to Decision No. 771/QD-EVNNPC dated April 13, 2023 to improve the reliability of power supply of the medium voltage grid in Lai Chau city and the districts: Tan Uyen, Tam Duong, Sin Ho by the multi-split - multi-connect method.

In order for the project to be implemented effectively, immediately after EVNNPC assigned the investment portfolio, Lai Chau PC directed departments to coordinate with design consultants to negotiate and sign contracts to perform design consulting work; approve survey and design tasks for the project. At the same time, direct the Project Management Board to coordinate with the Investment Management Department, Technical Department, Control Department, and affiliated Power Companies with projects to conduct actual surveys, adjust route directions, and adjust designs to suit the scale, ensuring convenience in operation management and acceptance of survey work at the site.

Talking with Mr. Mai Van Manh - Head of Lai Chau PC Project Management Board, we learned: With a total investment of nearly 15 billion VND to implement the multi-split - multi-connection project at 4 medium voltage 22-35kV bays after 110kV substations including routes 471 E29.1, 474 E29.1, 372 E29.1, 372E29.2 to supply electricity to Lai Chau city and the districts: Tam Duong, Sin Ho, Tan Uyen and Than Uyen. An additional line was built according to smart grid criteria. Adding more smart switching devices, remote control to ensure quick operation and reduce time to find and localize incidents.

Up to now, Lai Chau PC has completed the project design review; coordinated with the consulting contractor to complete the design documents for approval and implement the preparation steps for the construction and equipment procurement package. At the same time, directed the Project Management Board to coordinate with the affiliated Power Companies to prepare well for site clearance; directed departments to speed up the progress of investment preparation procedures, focusing on the time to carry out construction work at the site. Determined to complete the project according to the schedule assigned by EVNNPC.
