BHG - On April 18-19, Ha Giang Electricity Company conducted a "3 in 1" drill at the scene of its affiliated units, with the goal of improving the ability to respond to and handle natural disasters, ensuring grid safety and enhancing coordination capacity in disaster prevention, control and search and rescue (PCTT&TKCN).
Leaders of Ha Giang Electricity Company approved the drill plan. |
In the hypothetical situation of heavy rain, thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds in the province on the 18th and 19th, there is a high risk of seriously affecting the power grid system, disrupting power supply in all 10 districts and 1 city in the province.
Ha Giang City Electricity conducts disaster recovery drills due to landslides caused by floods and trees from the hills flowing down to the station, entering the power line, reducing the phase-to-ground distance, causing power outages and unsafe operations. |
Faced with that situation, Ha Giang Electricity Company quickly activated the drill plan, mobilizing all affiliated units to participate in handling 11 simulated incident scenarios, close to local reality. The scenarios were elaborately built, focusing on common risks during the rainy and stormy season such as landslides, fallen trees, broken poles, broken wires, flooding... affecting power lines from 22kV to 110kV.

Typically, at Xin Man Power Company, from 5 am, the unit deployed to handle the incident caused by landslide at the VT24÷VT25 pole of Nan Xin branch, erected new poles, installed beams and accessories, ensuring safe distance between the ground and phase. Next, Ha Giang High Voltage Grid Enterprise also simultaneously handled the incident at the 110kV VT219÷VT220 line, raised all conductors, installed iron caps on pole tops to ensure safe operation.
Dong Van Power Company rehearsed to fix the incident of rocks rolling into the electrical works, causing broken wires, damaged beams and insulators. |
From 6 a.m., Yen Minh, Bac Quang, Bac Me, Hoang Su Phi, Ha Giang City, Dong Van, Vi Xuyen and Quan Ba Power Companies received drill orders and synchronously deployed incident response measures in the field. Tasks such as erecting new poles, replacing beams, stretching wires, installing insulators, measuring ground resistance, etc. were all carried out urgently, following technical procedures and ensuring absolute safety.

In particular, the drill is not only a test of incident handling capabilities, but also an opportunity for units to practice their ability to coordinate multiple forces at the same time such as: Operation management unit, service enterprise, electrical testing center, etc. This is the highlight that helps the drill achieve practical results, close to real situations when natural disasters occur.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr. Nong Huy Tuc - Head of the drill command, highly appreciated the proactive spirit, discipline and technical expertise of the units: "The drill has helped us to be more proactive in prevention work, ready to handle in time when natural disasters actually occur. This is a task not only for the safety of the electricity industry but also contributes to ensuring the stability of people's lives and the development of the local economy and society".
Through the drill, Ha Giang Electricity Company continues to affirm its determination to proactively prevent - respond - overcome natural disasters, ensure safe, continuous and reliable operation of the power system, and be ready for all unusual weather situations during the 2025 storm season.
