The heart surgery program for children with congenital heart disease and the free eye surgery program to bring light to poor patients are two of the key programs of the Ho Chi Minh City Association for Supporting Poor Patients.
Since its establishment, the program has supported most patients in provinces and cities across the country. In particular, in 2023, the heart surgery program reached its 10,000th heart surgery and the eye surgery program reached its 700,000th surgery. Both programs were recognized by the Vietnam Guinness Book of Records as the organization that provided the most surgeries to patients in Vietnam. The above results were achieved thanks to the joint efforts of many sponsors, including Binh Tien Consumer Goods Manufacturing Company Limited (Biti's).
Ms. Vu Le Quyen, General Director of Biti's, emotionally spoke at the sponsorship ceremony: "I really sympathize with families with children with congenital heart disease, their parents are also really struggling. We donate 1 billion VND through the Association to contribute a small part to help children with congenital heart disease have timely surgery, get better soon to integrate into the community. My father, Mr. Vu Khai Thanh, has always accompanied the Association in many charity programs since the early days of the Association's establishment. Not only is the Company a long-time sponsor of the Association, but the Company also established a Biti's Association to regularly contribute to the Association to help many other charity programs...".
At the sponsorship ceremony, there were 6 children who had just had heart surgery and their health had recovered well, and 2 children were preparing to wait for surgery. In addition to helping with the cost of free heart surgery, Biti's Consumer Goods Manufacturing Company Limited (Biti's) also gave gifts to 8 children who had surgery and were waiting for surgery.
