Cong Phuong inspires at the football tournament for students of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics

After the success of the first season in 2024, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics (UEH) continues to organize the UEH League 2025 student football tournament on a larger and more professional scale.

On the morning of April 16, the launching ceremony and draw of the UEH League 2025 was held at the hall of the University of Economics, Ho Chi Minh City, with the participation of many students and representatives of the participating teams. In particular, the presence of 5 players currently playing for Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club (playing in the national first division), namely Nguyen Cong Phuong, Bui Tan Truong, Huynh Tan Sinh, Ho Tuan Tai and Le Thanh Binh, made the atmosphere more exciting.

Among them, Cong Phuong became the center of attention. Many students who are fans of Vietnamese football in general and “hardcore fans” of the former HAGL star in particular were very excited. During the interaction with the players, the students boldly stood up to ask questions, expressing their admiration for the striker from Nghe An .

The UEH League 2025 student football tournament brings together 10 teams from UEH's faculties, institutes and dormitories. A total of 49 matches will take place from April to November 2025, at the UEH Sports Center football field - Nguyen Van Linh (Binh Chanh District, Ho Chi Minh City). The tournament opens on April 20. Phase 1 of the UEH League 2025 takes place from April 19 to May 18, and phase 2 from August 10 to November 23.

Regarding the participants, UEH League 2025 is a playground for male students of UEH regular university system, UEH regular university transfer system, students of international joint programs with UEH, or students participating in exchange programs studying at UEH. In particular, this year the participants are also expanded to include UEH alumni, regular university students of other universities and colleges.

The tournament is played in a round-robin format. The four teams with the best results will advance to the semi-finals, with the first-placed team playing the fourth-placed team and the second-placed team playing the third-placed team. The two semi-final winners will compete for the championship, while the remaining two teams will compete for third place. Meanwhile, the two teams with the lowest scores after the group stage will compete in a play-off against the new teams to qualify for the next season.
