Bring joy to workers
In recent days, in Nghia Dan district, activities to celebrate International Labor Day 1/5 and the 50th anniversary of national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) have been carried out enthusiastically. A typical example is the workshop program "Painting conical hats - Colors of Vietnam" organized by the Nghia Dan District Labor Federation in collaboration with the International Clean Vegetable and Fruit Production and Supply Joint Stock Company (FVF).
Here, 70 staff and workers of the company participated in the activity of decorating conical hats with vivid paintings, expressing love for the homeland and pride in labor production. Each completed conical hat will be given back to the workers. Along with that, union members and workers were also trained in folk dance, bringing a joyful and exciting atmosphere towards the country's great holiday.
In order to bring effective companionship to workers, Nghia Dan District Labor Federation also gave gifts to workers in difficult circumstances, organized union meals, summer cooling programs at enterprises and presented national flags to grassroots unions. The total estimated resources for implementing the above activities of the District Labor Federation and grassroots unions is more than 1 billion VND.
Nghia Dan district currently has 7,205 union members and 125 grassroots unions. International Labor Day, May 1, is not only to honor workers but also to remind each union official of their role and duties.
In practice, over the past time, trade unions have always accompanied businesses to do a good job of caring for and protecting the rights and interests, both material and spiritual, of workers.

However, besides the achievements, there are still concerns because the income of workers is not as high as expected. Sometimes, in some places, working conditions are not good, and welfare for workers is limited. At this time, facing the requirements of innovation, streamlining the apparatus, and effectiveness of the Party, the trade union organization is in the process of arrangement and streamlining.
The old model is no longer there, it will have to be replaced by new models and new methods of operation. That requires trade union organizations to innovate their activities to suit the reality and increasingly meet the needs and aspirations of workers. From there, maintain the role of a reliable support for workers to trust.
Leaving Nghia Dan, we arrived at the Southeast Economic Zone, where more than 40 thousand workers are working. Activities towards International Labor Day 1/5 associated with the organization of Workers' Month are also being carried out in a variety of ways.
Comrade Hoang Thu Huong - Chairman of the Southeast Economic Zone Trade Union said: The Southeast Economic Zone Trade Union has planned to organize a series of meaningful activities such as the Workers' Festival, honoring exemplary trade union officials and grassroots trade unions with good achievements in negotiating, signing and implementing the Collective Labor Agreement. At the same time, visiting and giving gifts to workers, organizing collective folk dance performances, supervising the implementation of laws and labor safety, organizing for grassroots trade union officials to visit and learn from experiences, etc.
In addition, the Provincial Labor Culture House coordinated with the Labor Federation of Quy Hop and Yen Thanh districts to organize a program of legal communication, cultural and artistic exchange for workers of nearly 10 enterprises in the districts.
It can be seen that the International Labor Day is not only an occasion to honor workers but also an opportunity for trade unions to demonstrate their role in protecting, caring for and promoting workers' rights. With practical activities, trade unions have been contributing to building a better working environment, helping workers feel secure at work and improving their quality of life.
Through that, it contributes to concretizing Conclusion No. 77-TB/TW of the Central Party Secretariat on choosing May every year as "Workers' Month" in a profound and powerful way.
Many innovations
With the theme of Workers' Month 2025 being "Vietnamese workers pioneering into a new era", this year's International Labor Day, workers in Uncle Ho's homeland will receive many new joys from trade unions, businesses, and authorities at all levels.
This theme is specifically implemented through a series of meaningful activities such as the program "Creative workers, confidently entering the new era" to promote and mobilize union members and workers to study, improve their professional skills; cultivate their mettle, innovate their working style, and improve their integration skills.

In addition, the trade union also mobilized workers to participate in "Creative Labor Festival", competitions to propose ideas, initiatives, and technical solutions to innovate production processes, save materials and improve labor efficiency. The "May Dialogue" program and the "Party with Workers - Workers with the Party" forum create opportunities for workers and Party leaders to exchange, listen to and resolve issues related to workers' rights and responsibilities. The "Thank you to workers" program coordinates with businesses to organize activities to show gratitude, support and honor workers' contributions, such as visiting, giving gifts and praising outstanding individuals.
In addition, on this occasion, Nghe An Trade Union will organize the launching ceremony of Workers' Month, organize a mass folk dance performance, and "Workers' Health Festival". In particular, continue to direct workers and employees at enterprises to salute the flag and sing the National Anthem on April 28, 2025 and May 19, 2025 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), the 139th anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1, 1886 - May 1, 2025), and the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday.
Comrade Thai Minh Sy - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation shared that, along with many changes in the country, especially in the process of streamlining the apparatus, the trade union organization is facing great opportunities and challenges that require further innovation from models to methods of operation to represent and care for and protect the legitimate rights and interests of workers.
In the immediate future, the trade union will be more active and proactive in participating in the development of policies and laws that demonstrate the important function of the trade union in representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers. Continue to promote patriotic emulation movements, focusing on the movements of "Good workers, creative workers", "Good at public work, good at housework".
In addition, trade unions at all levels continue to take appropriate measures to promptly resolve workers' petitions, stabilize security and order, and contribute to creating an increasingly better investment environment, thereby mobilizing many resources to contribute to socio-economic development in the new situation.
