From Long Thanh airport to Nhon Trach bridge, Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3, Phuoc An bridge... and many key projects in Dong Nai and Ba Ria - Vung Tau do not have a New Year's holiday, personnel and machinery are still mobilized as usual to speed up progress.
At Nhon Trach Bridge (component project 1A Ring Road 3, Ho Chi Minh City), workers are still diligently constructing the iron parts, bridge deck... Despite the hot weather, the hands of Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan (right cover) are still working quickly. According to the My Thuan Project Management Board, the project has reached 82.3% of the progress, expected to open to traffic in April 2025, and be fully completed in June 2025, 4 months ahead of schedule compared to the contract.
To ensure this goal, more than 400 engineers, workers and a series of equipment were mobilized to work throughout the holidays. The construction stages of girder installation, steel installation, bridge deck and weak ground treatment are being accelerated. Mai Kiem, a welder from Nghe An, shared that because his house is far away and he has no relatives nearby, he still stays at the construction site during the holidays.

Similarly, at the Long Thanh airport construction site, which is expected to become the largest aviation hub in the region, 7,000 engineers, workers and machinery are working around the clock. Workers are focusing on completing the steel roof structure, striving to complete the roof cover soon so that the interior structures can be constructed.
While hanging high above to install the steel roof structure, Mr. Nguyen Van Han (left) shared: "The contractor is speeding up, so the workers have to work day and night, even during holidays and Tet. We are determined to welcome the new year together on the construction site with a relaxed mentality, so the work goes more smoothly."
Not far from the airport is Ring Road 3 through Nhon Trach, more than 11km long, passing through Dong Nai province. At the intersection with Road 25B, workers are making formwork to cast bridge piers. Mr. Nam An (from Thanh Hoa) said that recently, the land has been cleared, so this section is being focused on building the bridge. The remaining sections are still being rolled, road molded, crushed stone, base stone, etc.
Due to initial land acquisition issues, progress was somewhat slow, but now the contractor is taking advantage of every hour, working day and night to make up for the delay. Road rollers, excavators, and bulldozers roll all night to fill the roadbed in the newly cleared sections to synchronize with other sections.
Located in the inner city of Bien Hoa, Dong Nai, the central axis road with Thong Nhat Bridge is also being worked on by a team of engineers and workers in each stage. In just a few days, this bridge will have its first girders installed.
“I had an appointment with my wife and children for Tet, but the schedule was urgent, so I had to postpone it and stay with my colleagues to speed up the work,” said worker Nguyen Van Tam. Mr. Tam said that because his house is near the construction site, he brings lunch every day and takes a break right at the construction site before continuing his work.
Working together on the construction of Thong Nhat Bridge, Minh Quang, a welder with 12 years of experience in the profession, just finished work, sweating profusely, but still took the time to call home during dinner to share the joys and sorrows at the construction site with his wife and children. Quang said he is working hard day and night to earn more income to have a more fulfilling Tet.
Similar to Dong Nai, major projects in Ba Ria - Vung Tau such as Highway 991B, 994, and Phuoc An Bridge also do not have holidays. Because these projects are also rushing to meet their deadlines, engineers and workers are forced to stay at the construction site. Even though it is a holiday, all work still takes place in shifts, continuously from morning to night.
The Phuoc An bridge project connecting Phu My town with Nhon Trach district is entering the acceleration phase. The bridge is more than 4km long, with a modern design, playing an important role in connecting Cai Mep - Thi Vai port with the Southeast region's transportation network. Construction teams are focusing on completing the bridge piers, pouring beams and preparing to install equipment...
At the same time, on provincial road 994 connecting Vung Tau to Xuyen Moc bordering Binh Thuan, contractors are speeding up the progress of gravel grading, roadbed construction, drainage system, and bridge construction on the route. This route will not only reduce the load on National Highway 51 but also expand the potential for coastal tourism development in Ba Ria - Vung Tau.
