After the funeral, Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam was moved to write in the condolence book: "Deeply mourning comrade General Khamtay Siphandone, former Chairman of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, former President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, an outstanding leader, an outstanding son of the Lao people of all ethnic groups, a loyal revolutionary soldier, who sacrificed his whole life to fight for national independence, freedom, happiness of the people and the prosperous development of Laos."

According to Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam, the passing of General Khamtay Siphandone is not only a huge loss for the Party, State, army and people of Laos, but the Party, State, army and people of Vietnam have also lost a great friend, a very close comrade and brother, who has made many important contributions to building, consolidating and developing the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

The Embassy, ​​agencies affiliated to the Embassy and the Vietnamese community in Laos send their deepest condolences to the Party, State, army and people of Laos of all ethnic groups and the family of comrade Khamtay Siphandone.

On the same day, a delegation from the Office of the Vietnamese Defense Attaché in Laos also visited comrade Khamtay Siphandone, former Chairman of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and former President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, and signed the condolence book, demonstrating the friendship between the two countries' armies and the close relationship of the Vietnam-Laos fighting alliance./.
