Ngoc Trao commune has been announced as meeting the standards for a new rural area.

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - On the morning of March 30th, Ngoc Trao commune (Thach Thanh district) held a ceremony to announce its achievement of the new rural standard.

Delegates and people attend the ceremony announcing that Ngoc Trao commune has achieved the New Rural Area standard.

Ngoc Trao is a low-lying, midland mountainous commune in Thach Thanh district. The locality proudly boasts being one of the first guerrilla war zones in the country, the peak of the anti-imperialist national salvation movement in Thanh Hoa during the 1940-1941 period; the birthplace of the Ngoc Trao Guerrilla Team, the predecessor of the Thanh Hoa armed forces.

Ngoc Trao commune has a natural area of ​​1,676.31 hectares, with 1,025 households and 4,080 inhabitants, comprising two main ethnic groups: the Kinh and the Muong. The commune has 2.8 km of Provincial Road 523 and inter-commune roads connecting Ngoc Trao to Thanh Tam commune, which serve as vital transportation routes for the flow of goods and economic exchange with neighboring communes.

At the time of starting the New Rural Development program, the Party Committee and People's Committee of the commune assessed that the commune had only met 11 out of 19 criteria, with the remaining criteria only reaching about 50-55%, especially those related to socio-economic infrastructure, which required significant capital to build or upgrade and meet the set goals.

Chairman of Ngoc Trao Commune People's Committee, Bui Van Phuong, reported on the results of implementing the New Rural Development program.

Recognizing that building new rural areas is a key task impacting all aspects of people's lives, from the very beginning of its implementation, Ngoc Trao organized propaganda and dissemination about the purpose, meaning, content, and methods of implementation to raise awareness among officials and all strata of people in the area regarding participation in building new rural areas.

After more than 12 years of implementing the New Rural Development program, with synchronized solutions, the socio-economic situation in the area has been completely transformed; people's awareness has been raised, rural infrastructure is relatively complete; people's economic lives have improved, and political security and social order have been maintained. In 2024, the total value of production is estimated at 806.8 billion VND; average per capita income reached 51.28 million VND/person; the multidimensional poverty rate was 1.85%. 3 out of 3 schools have facilities meeting national standards; the commune has been recognized as meeting national standards for healthcare by 2030.

Hero of the People's Armed Forces Mai Ngọc Thoảng, representing the people of the homeland, delivered a speech at the ceremony.

Thanks to the efforts of the Party committees and government at all levels, and the unity and cooperation of the people, in 2024 Ngoc Trao commune completed all 19/19 criteria and was recognized as a New Rural Area by Decision 4754/QD-UBND dated December 3, 2024, issued by the Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Tran Ngoc Chung, Head of the Thach Thanh District Party Committee's Organization Department, acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the Party Committee, government, and people of Ngoc Trao commune in implementing the New Rural Development program. He also expressed his hope that in the future, the Party Committee, government, and people of Ngoc Trao will continue to preserve and promote the local cultural and historical traditions, potential, and advantages, proactively seize development opportunities, and strive to build an increasingly prosperous commune.

Representatives from the Thach Thanh district leadership presented the Decision recognizing Ngoc Trao commune as having met the standards for a New Rural Area.

At the ceremony, on behalf of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the leaders of Thach Thanh district presented the Decision recognizing Ngoc Trao commune as meeting the standards of a New Rural Area and awards to the officials and people of Ngoc Trao commune.

Representatives from Thach Thanh district presented flowers to congratulate Ngoc Trao commune on achieving the New Rural Area standard.

On this occasion, Ngoc Trao commune awarded commendations to outstanding collectives and individuals in the emulation movement to build new rural areas; and at the same time launched an emulation movement to maintain and develop the criteria for new rural areas.
