Emergency situation declared on 4 national highways in Ha Giang

Due to the impact of storm No. 3 and the floods after the storm, 4 national highways in Ha Giang province including National Highway 4, National Highway 4C, National Highway 279, National Highway 280 have just been declared by the Ministry of Transport as an emergency situation due to natural disasters to overcome damage to traffic infrastructure.

The Ministry of Transport has just issued a decision to declare a natural disaster emergency to repair damage to traffic infrastructure on National Highways 4, 4C, 279, 280 and Lung Cu National Flagpole Road caused by rain and floods in Ha Giang province from September 1 to October 31.

According to the Ministry of Transport, due to the impact of storm No. 3 and the floods caused by the storm in Ha Giang province, many national highways passing through Ha Giang province have many locations affected, leading to infrastructure damage that directly threatens the safety of people and vehicles participating in road traffic.

Specifically: on Highway 4, there are damages at the following locations: Km 296+700, Km 339+150, Km 340+220, Km 350+750, Km 352+000, Km 392+900 and Km 397+080. On Highway 4C, there are damages at Km 32+350 - Km 32+800, Km 79+570, Km 95+120. Highway 279 has damages at Km 31+500, Km 32+600, Km 35+920. On National Highway 280 at Km 11+010, Km 20+950, ​​Km 26+700, Km 9+310 - Km 9+390, Km 20+520 - Km 20+620; Km 7+720, Km 17+450 Lung Cu National Flagpole Road.

The Ministry of Transport requests agencies and units, according to their assigned functions and tasks, to carry out activities to overcome the consequences of natural disasters according to the provisions of Circular No. 03/2019 of the Ministry of Transport on the prevention, control and overcoming of consequences of natural disasters in the road sector.

Vietnam Road Administration, Ha Giang Department of Transport, within their scope and management responsibilities, shall implement disaster recovery activities as prescribed in Clause 2, Article 1 of this Decision; including reviewing and determining the specific extent of damage to road works caused by natural disasters, repair and remediation solutions, and issuing an Order to build emergency works to overcome the consequences of natural disasters in accordance with the provisions of law.

Upon completion of emergency construction and disaster recovery work according to the above-mentioned emergency situation, the Vietnam Road Administration shall report to the Ministry of Transport as a basis for considering the announcement of the end of the emergency situation.
