Inter Miami's official stadium in the Miami Freedom Park complex has a capacity of 26,700 seats. This is where the team's co-owners and chairman David Beckham once declared that Messi would play at least one season.
David Beckham secures Messi's long-term future as Inter Miami debuts at their new stadium.
Inter Miami currently plays at Chase Stadium, which has a capacity of 21,550 seats. However, this stadium has only been temporary since the team was founded and began competing in the MLS.
David Beckham and his co-owners, billionaire brothers Jorge Mas and Jose Mas, have a grand ambition to build a complex called Miami Freedom Park, encompassing a modern stadium, a sprawling park, restaurants, hotels, sports facilities for youth, and areas for international concerts and events.
This project has been underway for many years and is progressing in stages, with the new stadium expected to be completed by the end of 2025 and officially inaugurated for competitions in early 2026.

Messi's arrival at Inter Miami in July 2023, with a contract running until the end of 2025 and an option to extend for the following year, coupled with the immediate influence of the 37-year-old Argentine star—not only on Inter Miami but on the entire MLS league—has prompted David Beckham and his co-owners to accelerate the completion of the Miami Freedom Park complex.
This is seen as David Beckham's next big plan after fulfilling his promise to Inter Miami fans to sign the world's best player, Messi.
Setting the date for the inauguration of the new stadium is also a step in David Beckham's intention to propose that Messi activate the clause to extend his contract for the following year until the end of 2026. This would fulfill the former football star and successful English businessman's commitment to Inter Miami fans: ensuring Messi will play at least one season at the new stadium in the Miami Freedom Park complex and fulfill his real dream.
The owners of Inter Miami see Messi as the centerpiece of all their ambitious projects.
According to the Miami Herald , top players including Messi, Suarez, Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquets all consider Inter Miami to be the final club of their careers. Therefore, it is entirely possible that these players will agree to extend their contracts to continue playing at Inter Miami's new official stadium for the long term.
"This isn't a huge problem either, as David Beckham has a very close relationship with Messi, Suarez, Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquets. Furthermore, in their commitment to Inter Miami, these players all stated they would play at least one season at the team's new stadium," the Miami Herald stated.
