Announcement of the Decision to establish Lao Cai Newspaper on the basis of merging Lao Cai Newspaper and the Provincial Radio and Television Station

CTTĐT – On the morning of April 1, 2025, Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee held a Conference to announce the Decision to establish Lao Cai Newspaper and Decisions on personnel work.

Attending the conference were comrades: Trinh Xuan Truong - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Vu Xuan Cuong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Hoang Giang - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Standing members of the Party Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the Department of Home Affairs, the Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism, the Provincial Party Committee Office, the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Journalists Association, representatives of a number of central press agencies residing in Lao Cai province and the collective of leaders, cadres, reporters, editors, staff and workers of Lao Cai Newspaper and Lao Cai Radio - Television Station.

At the conference, the Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee announced Decision No. 1137-QD/TU dated March 12, 2025 of the Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee. Accordingly, Lao Cai Newspaper was established on the basis of merging Lao Cai Newspaper and Lao Cai Provincial Radio and Television Station as a public service unit under the Provincial Party Committee, consisting of 9 affiliated units, including: Administrative - Administrative Department; Technical - Technology Department; General Secretary Department; Editorial and Production Department; Arts - Sports - Entertainment Department; Ethnic Department; Current Affairs - Politics Department; Economic - Social Department; Digital Content Development Department.

The functions, tasks, organizational structure, staff and number of employees of Lao Cai Newspaper are implemented according to Project No. 39-DA/TU dated March 3, 2025 of the Standing Committee of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee and current regulations. The leaders of Lao Cai Newspaper appoint leaders of affiliated units according to regulations on decentralization of cadre management; assign and arrange staff and employees; develop working regulations, functions, tasks and job positions according to authority and regulations. Lao Cai Newspaper is arranged with a working office, equipped with assets, equipment and means of work according to regulations, ensuring operating conditions and suitable for the number of staff and employees; is a public service unit that self-insures regular expenses (group 2 unit) according to regulations on financial autonomy mechanism of public service units.

Mr. Le Truong Giang, Director of Lao Cai Provincial Radio and Television Station, came to work at Lao Cai Newspaper and was appointed as Editor-in-Chief of Lao Cai Newspaper.

Next, the Conference announced decisions on personnel work. Specifically, Decision No. 1158-QD/TU dated March 28, 2025 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on the appointment of the position of Editor-in-Chief of Lao Cai Newspaper. Accordingly, receiving and transferring comrade Le Truong Giang, Director of Lao Cai Provincial Radio and Television Station to work at Lao Cai Newspaper and appointing him to the position of Editor-in-Chief of Lao Cai Newspaper, from April 1, 2025.

The leaders presented the Decision and flowers to congratulate the Editor-in-Chief and Deputy Editors-in-Chief of Lao Cai Newspaper.

Announcing the decisions of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on the appointment of the following comrades to the position of Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Lao Cai Newspaper, from April 1, 2025: Nguyen Thanh Nam; Luu Thi Nu; Nguyen Duc Hoang; Dang Viet Xuyen; Nguyen Quoc Quan; Tran Thu Hien.

In his congratulatory speech and assignment of tasks to Lao Cai Newspaper, Comrade Trinh Xuan Truong - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: The merger of Lao Cai Newspaper and Lao Cai Radio and Television Station is an objective trend, meeting the requirements of reality and implementing the policy of arranging, streamlining, and organizing the apparatus of the political system of the Central and the province. Comrade Trinh Xuan Truong, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council suggested that after the merger, Lao Cai Newspaper needs to arrange the apparatus, stabilize the work soon to organize and operate immediately according to the assigned functions and tasks. In particular, it is necessary to ensure the synchronization, unity and harmonious development between types of journalism; synchronization between the voices of the Party, the Government and the People, for the cause of the Party, the growth of the Government and for the interests of the People; synchronization, building a press agency as a "bridge" between the Party and the People and the People and the Party.
