On November 21, Cu M'gar district held a conference to announce the Construction Plan for Cu M'gar district to 2045.

The construction planning of Cu M'gar district to 2045 was approved by the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 2064/QD-UBND, dated October 16, 2023 with the goal that by 2045, Cu M'gar district will complete its socio-economic development goals, criteria and targets on urban development, have a developed economy, stable growth in an environmentally friendly direction; high quality urbanization, a synchronous and modern infrastructure system; balanced development between urban and rural areas, a civilized, modern living environment rich in cultural identity.

According to the regional spatial development orientation, Cu M'gar district is divided into 2 economic development sub-regions: sub-region 1 is the urban - service - tourism - industrial area and sub-region 2 is the agricultural and forestry service area.

In which, sub-region 1 includes the entire administrative boundaries of Quang Phu town, Ea Pok town, communes: Quang Tien, Cu Sue, Cu M'gar, Cuor Dang, Ea Drong, Ea K'pam, Ea Tul and Cu Dlie M'nong, the center of the sub-region is Quang Phu town. Sub-region 1 is oriented to comprehensively develop the outstanding strengths of the district, being the northern gateway area of Buon Ma Thuot city. This will be the area supplying food for Buon Ma Thuot city and supporting Buon Ho town; forming service and trade functions, partially supporting the remaining development pole; forming technology transfer centers associated with production areas.

Sub-region 2 includes the entire administrative boundaries of the communes: Ea Kiet, Ea Kueh, Ea M'Droh, Quang Hiep, Ea Tar, Ea H'ding, Ea M'nang with the center of the sub-region being Ea Kiet commune. Sub-region 2 is oriented towards developing trade associated with agricultural production services, forming production support centers and transit hubs, distribution channels associated with the logistics chain of the region and the province.

By 2045, Cu M'gar district is expected to have 3 urban areas: Quang Phu town (type III urban area); Ea Pok town (type IV urban area) and Cuor Dang town (type V urban area).

In addition, the district invested in developing Phu Xuan industrial park in Ea Drong commune with a scale of 325.6 hectares; developing an expected industrial cluster in Ea Kpam commune, with a scale of about 75 hectares...

Regarding economic development forecast, by 2045, agriculture, forestry and fishery will account for 10-11%; industry - handicrafts, construction will account for 38-39%; trade and services will account for 49-50%.

Regarding the development orientation of agricultural and forestry areas: Cu M'gar district plans to form 3 production support centers, located in the communes of Ea K'pam, Ea Kiet and Quang Hiep. At the same time, the district will develop agricultural production areas; annual and perennial crop growing areas; forestry production areas; high-tech agricultural production areas...

Speaking at the Conference, Mr. Vu Hong Nhat, Chairman of the District People's Committee affirmed that the approved Construction Planning of Cu M'gar District to 2045 is the legal basis for the District People's Committee to implement socio-economic development investment projects, ensuring uniformity and consistency, in accordance with the provincial planning.

This is a very important event, but it is only the beginning. In order for the District Construction Plan to 2045 to become a reality, the District People's Committee will focus on promoting propaganda and widely disseminating the core contents of the plan; continue to strongly improve the investment and business environment to attract investors inside and outside the province, including calling for foreign investment in infrastructure development, attracting investment in high-tech agriculture; strengthen environmental protection, develop science, technology and innovation... In the immediate future, strive to build Cu M'gar district into a new rural district by 2025.
