In recent times, as a policy advisory agency for socio-economic development, the Ministry of Planning and Investment has proposed major policies in innovation, digital transformation and sustainable development.

Over the past 4 years, the Department of Enterprise Development, Ministry of Planning and Investment has focused on popularizing and raising awareness of digital transformation for businesses in 63 provinces and cities across the country. In addition, the Ministry also carries out in-depth digital transformation support activities such as: consulting, training, technology support, etc.

Specifically, nearly 14,200 enterprises in 63 provinces and cities have participated in direct training programs; built a network of more than 150 digital transformation consultants to develop a digital ecosystem for enterprises; provided in-depth consulting support for more than 400 enterprises to build and deploy a digital transformation roadmap, and support the application of innovative technology to the management and production processes of enterprises.

To date, businesses have made significant changes in their awareness of the need for digital transformation. Many businesses have entered the phase of digitizing data, standardizing processes, applying digital technology, and moving towards a broader and more synchronous digital transformation.

Not just stopping at simple digital transformation, the trend of digital transformation associated with green transformation towards a sustainable digital economy is one of the mandatory conditions that businesses need to apply.

“This is also one of the strategic orientations of the Department of Enterprise Development in policy making as well as designing and implementing pilot programs and projects to guide businesses,” Mr. Trung emphasized.

“Digital transformation helps small and medium-sized enterprises improve productivity, find new markets more easily, and thereby enhance competitiveness in the context of strong globalization. However, digitalization also poses risks related to cybersecurity, data protection and consumer rights issues, so good management solutions are needed to optimize the benefits and minimize the risks from the digital transformation process,” said Mr. Dennis Quennet.
