The Ministry of Public Security's Training Department will announce the assessment exam scores for admission to police schools on July 18.
Candidates can visit the websites of the schools they registered to take the exam to check their exam scores. July 18 is also the day the Ministry of Education and Training announced the high school graduation exam scores of more than one million candidates.
The admission score is the total score of the 3 high school graduation exam subjects in the admission group (40%) and the assessment test score of the Ministry of Public Security converted to a 30-point scale (60%) rounded to two decimal places, plus regional priority points, subject priority points according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, and bonus points according to the regulations of the Ministry of Public Security.
The formula for calculating admission scores for police schools is as follows:
Admission score = Total score of three graduation exams *2/5 + Assessment exam score *3/5 + Priority points according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training + Bonus points for excellent students at the national level.

Two weeks ago, 16,000 candidates took part in the competency assessment exam organized by the Ministry of Public Security. Associate Professor Dr. Do Anh Tuan, Director of the Training Department, Ministry of Public Security, said that this number increased by 7,000 compared to last year, while the quota for 8 police schools is about 1,900.
The People's Police Competency Assessment Test consists of two parts: multiple choice and essay, each part is 90 minutes. Candidates choose one of two exam codes CA1, CA2. Both codes are similar in the multiple choice part of Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and English Language. The difference is that code CA1 has an essay part in Math, while CA2 has an essay part in Literature.
The leader of the Department of Training said that the exam questions are based on the high school knowledge program, mainly grade 12, evaluating candidates at 4 levels: recognition, understanding, application and high application.
Due to organizing separate exams and applying new admission scoring methods, last year, police schools no longer had a benchmark score above 27. The highest benchmark score was 26.26, applied to female candidates in the North, taking the exam for the People's Public Security Force Building major (People's Public Security Political Academy) with the C00 group (Literature, History, Geography).
The benchmark for male candidates is lower, commonly below 20. In particular, the Medical major of the People's Security Academy, applied to male candidates in the South is 15.1 points (combination B00: Math, Chemistry, Biology), in the North 15.64 - the lowest among the training majors.
In addition to considering exam scores, police schools have two other admission methods: direct admission according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and admission combined with international English certificates. The admission method combined with international certificates only applies to the International Academy, the People's Public Security Political Academy, the Security and Police Services majors. Candidates with IELTS 7.5, TOEFL iBT 110 or HSK 5 or higher will be considered according to this method.
