According to the news from the Vietnamese Engineering Team at the UNISFA Mission (Abyei region, Africa), since February 12 (the 3rd day of the Lunar New Year 2024), the Vietnamese Engineering Team here has continued to implement the project of building a smart camp. The project is divided into 3 phases with a total of 30 housing modules and utility and auxiliary works.

Currently, the Vietnam Engineering Team has completed phase 1, 2 and 60% of phase 3. Of which, many modules (prefabricated house systems) have been put into use, including office systems, housing, dining halls, kitchens, gyms, and toilet systems.
It is expected that in the first half of this year, the team will complete the remaining items, including 3 housing modules, water treatment system, solid waste treatment system, repair station, generator area, solar power station, lighting system, security monitoring system and environmental landscape construction.

At the same time, the Vietnam Engineering Team is also implementing the construction of a smart camp for the Nepalese unit at the UNISFA Mission headquarters. Currently, the team has completed 1/18 of the housing modules. It is expected that in the second half of 2024, the team will continue to start the smart barracks project for the Chinese rapid response unit.
In addition, up to now, the Vietnamese Engineering Team has also deployed forces to construct the ground for the construction of smart camps, dig canals, build barriers, and build protective fences around the Pakistani infantry unit barracks in the Difra area, in the northern Abyei division.
The team also took advantage of the dry season to open new branch roads and patrol roads, ensuring smooth traffic, serving the regular and unexpected tasks of the mission.
