Police refused to return the results of the appraisal of the torn lottery ticket to the buyer.

On December 25, lawyer Nguyen Van Ky (Thua Thien Hue Province Bar Association), who was authorized by Ms. NTN (residing in Quang Nam) to carry out legal procedures to sue Thua Thien Hue Lottery Company Limited (abbreviated as Hue Lottery Company - PV) for refusing to pay the prize for the lottery ticket that won the special prize because it was torn at one end, provided the above information.

According to lawyer Ky, after being requested by the People's Court of Huong Thuy town (Thua Thien Hue province) to provide a copy of the appraisal results of the torn lottery ticket, he and his client submitted a request to provide the appraisal results to the Criminal Techniques Department of Thua Thien Hue Provincial Police.

After receiving the application, the Criminal Technical Department responded in writing that it refused to provide the appraisal results because Ms. N. was not the subject requesting the appraisal (the subject was Hue Lottery Company).

However, Ms. N. was the one who gave the money to the representative of Hue Lottery Company to submit to the police for appraisal.

The police also said they would return the appraisal results to Ms. N. when the Hue Lottery Company agreed in writing.

According to lawyer Ky, this refusal does not greatly affect the implementation of lawsuit procedures.

"On our side, the plaintiff will send a document to the People's Court of Huong Thuy town, along with a response document from the police regarding this matter. From there, the court will send an official dispatch requesting the police to provide the appraisal results," said Mr. Ky.
