It is known that this is a special case jointly destroyed by the Criminal Police Department, Tan Binh District Police and related units.
According to Ho Chi Minh City Police, up to now, 16 subjects have been temporarily detained and prosecuted for the acts of "Trafficking in persons under 16 years old" and "Forging seals and documents of agencies and organizations".
According to the police, this is a large-scale newborn trafficking ring in the form of adoption that occurred in many provinces and cities, led by Nguyen Thi Anh Dao (42 years old, from Nghe An), Hoang Thi Nhung (30 years old, from Dong Nai), Do Thi Thuy Ngan (30 years old, from Hanoi) and Cao Thi Thu Phuong (41 years old, from Hai Duong).
Police determined that the group bought newborn babies for 10-23 million VND each, then resold them for 35-75 million VND each. During the successful sale, the group forged documents related to the children's identities.
Currently, the Criminal Police Department is coordinating with relevant units to expand the investigation.
