Binh Chanh District Police, Ho Chi Minh City, have informed about a student's report of a clip secretly filming the girls' restroom at Tan Tuc High School.
On the evening of October 25, Binh Chanh District Police, Ho Chi Minh City, informed about the incident involving a male student at Tan Tuc High School who placed a hidden camera device in the girls' restroom.
The agency said that on October 25, information spread on social media that a male student at Tan Tuc High School had placed a hidden camera in the girls' restroom. The school's Board of Directors coordinated with the district police to verify and clarify the incident.
Initial investigation results determined that on the afternoon of October 23, male student NQH, grade 12, Tan Tuc High School, used his phone to secretly film a female classmate in grade 11 while going to the school cafeteria. At that time, the female classmate asked him to delete the video, but NQH showed no interest.
This student reported to his classmate named D.K. D.K went to beat him and asked NQH to delete the clip in front of him. When the fight broke out, the school's Board of Directors invited NQH's family and D.K to the school to work. NQH wrote a statement admitting his mistake for secretly filming his classmate. D.K wrote a statement admitting his mistake for beating his classmate.
However, that same evening, many public groups and fake accounts appeared on Facebook around the information that NQH secretly filmed female students at Tan Tuc High School by installing hidden cameras in the girls' restroom. The information caused confusion among teachers, students, and parents.
Binh Chanh District Police coordinated with the school's principal to quickly work with the students involved in the public opinion about installing this hidden camera (with the witness of the students' parents). At the same time, they simultaneously inspected all the restrooms. The results showed that no hidden cameras were found.
NQH himself confirmed that he did not secretly film female students in the restroom. After checking NQH's phone, he also did not discover any offensive images as posted on social networks.
The incident caused concern for parents, students and society. From the above incident, many false rumors spread, such as NQH was transferred to a neighboring school. This information is completely fabricated because he is currently studying at Tan Tuc High School.
Binh Chanh District Police have worked with the school's Board of Directors to deploy to homeroom teachers of each class to organize class activities to stabilize the psychology of students. At the same time, the District Police asked parents to stay calm, encourage students to study with peace of mind, and post information carefully and with verification when using social networks. Any acts of fabrication, slander, or posting false information will be handled according to the law.
