On June 11, according to information from the Road and Railway Traffic Police Department (PC08), Ho Chi Minh City Police, the Patrol and Control Team of the Binh Trieu Traffic Police Team has just arrested a Phuong Trang bus suspected of transporting contraband cigarettes.

At 7:50 a.m. the same day, the Binh Trieu Traffic Police Team, including Captain Nguyen Minh Tam, Team Leader, Major Hoang Anh Binh and Captain Nguyen Thanh Trung, were on patrol and handling violations on National Highway 1 when they received a report of a car suspected of carrying contraband cigarettes passing through the area. The working group immediately reported the incident to the Binh Trieu Traffic Police Team Command.
Afterwards, the Team Command mobilized Captain Mai Nguyen Quoc Trong, who was currently performing the task of commanding and controlling traffic at Linh Xuan roundabout, to support the blockade.
At 7:55 a.m., the Traffic Police Team stopped Phuong Trang bus with license plate 50F-033.XX carrying suspected smuggled cigarettes.
Upon inspection, the Traffic Police Team discovered that this vehicle was carrying 3 boxes of goods, inside were 1,700 packs of cigarettes suspected of being smuggled (including 500 packs of ESSE CHANGE cigarettes; 500 packs of strange CAPRI cigarettes; 700 packs of JET cigarettes).
The Traffic Police Team handed over the driver and the evidence to Tam Binh Ward Police, Thu Duc City, for handling according to regulations.
Previously, on June 9, the Binh Trieu Traffic Police Team stopped a car with expired registration in the area driven by Nguyen Van Chien (born in 1999, residing in Quang Ngai). After checking and verifying, Chien was prosecuted by Quang Ngai City Police for fraud and appropriation of property and was fleeing to Ho Chi Minh City. The Binh Trieu Traffic Police Team handed Chien over to the local police agency for handling.
