Hanoi City Police investigate forest fire at Ba Vi National Park

On April 20, Director of Ba Vi National Park Do Huu The said that the Board of Directors of the Park and the authorities of Ba Vi district are coordinating with the Hanoi City Police to investigate and clarify the cause of the serious forest fire that occurred on the evening of April 19 in Lat village, Minh Quang commune, Ba Vi National Park.

Accordingly, at 9:00 p.m. on April 19, a forest fire broke out in Lat village, Minh Quang commune. After receiving the report, the City Police Command Information Center dispatched 3 command vehicles, 6 fire trucks and more than 40 officers and soldiers to the scene to coordinate with the Ba Vi National Park rangers, militia and local people to extinguish the fire.

According to Director of Ba Vi National Park Do Huu The, the fire broke out in dry weather conditions, strong winds, and rugged mountainous terrain, making it impossible for specialized vehicles to access the fire area. Authorities quickly applied the "4 on-site" principle, using manual means such as blowers, knives, fire extinguishers, etc. to contain and contain the fire. Thanks to that, after more than 1 hour of implementing fire extinguishing measures, at around 10:30 p.m. the same day, the fire was basically controlled and completely extinguished.

The fire area is located in plots 1 and 2, sub-zone 7, in the ecological protection forest subdivision, at an altitude of about 200-300m.
