On the evening of June 2, the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention, Quang Ngai Provincial Police, said that the unit had just helped a worker receive back 25 million VND that was mistakenly transferred to another person's account.
Previously, on May 10, Mr. Nguyen Van Ut (temporarily residing in Nghia Dien commune, Tu Nghia district, Quang Ngai), a construction worker, upon receiving news that his biological mother was being treated at Thanh Hoa General Hospital, transferred 25 million VND to his wife's account, but mistakenly transferred it to another account.
Immediately after discovering the wrong transfer, Mr. Ut went to the bank for instructions, carried out the verification procedures, and asked the account owner to transfer the above amount but to no avail. After that, Mr. Ut went to the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention, Quang Ngai Provincial Police to report the incident.

Upon receiving the report, the Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department quickly coordinated with the police forces of Hai Phong, Bac Ninh and Lang Son provinces to verify the account owner. However, the account owner's information is complex, so the verification process and contact to work with the account owner are extremely difficult.
By the afternoon of June 1, the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention, Quang Ngai Provincial Police, in coordination with Hong Phong Commune Police (Binh Gia District, Lang Son), identified the account owner who mistakenly received the money transferred from Mr. Ut and invited him to work. At the same time, the account owner was instructed to transfer 25 million VND back to Mr. Nguyen Van Ut's account.
