Recently, social networks have spread rumors that the leader of PGBank Phu Thuy branch, Gia Lam district, Hanoi, has gone bankrupt and has been arrested. This information has negatively impacted public opinion, and a number of customers have gathered at the transaction office, PGBank branch in Long Bien district, Gia Lam district, to withdraw their deposits.
On the afternoon of September 14, Hanoi City Police confirmed that this information was inaccurate, affecting the image and reputation of PGBank and the rights of people depositing money there.
Authorities said that all activities at PGBank in Long Bien and Gia Lam districts are normal and absolutely safe, in full compliance with the provisions of the law as well as the State Bank of Vietnam.
"Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy, Deputy Director of the State Bank of Vietnam, Hanoi Branch, and Mr. Pham Thang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PGBank, met and had a dialogue with a number of customers and confirmed that customers' deposits at PGBank are all guaranteed in accordance with regulations," Hanoi Police emphasized.
The Economic Security Department is coordinating with the Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department, Gia Lam District Police and other functional units to verify and handle the subjects spreading this false information.
Hanoi City Police Department recommends that people be cautious and vigilant when writing articles and sharing inaccurate information; avoid causing public panic, negatively affecting security and order in the city, affecting the interests of depositors and the image and reputation of banks.
Cases of sharing false information will be strictly handled according to the provisions of law.
