The General Department of Taxation (Ministry of Finance) has just sent a document to the Investigation Security Agency - Hoa Binh Provincial Police regarding coordination in the prevention and combat of crimes related to the tax sector.
The General Department of Taxation said that it has received a dispatch from the Investigation Security Agency - Hoa Binh Provincial Police Department regarding the recommendation to overcome the causes and conditions for committing crimes through the investigation results of the case of "Illegal trading of invoices" and "Tax evasion" occurring in Hoa Binh province, Thai Binh province and other provinces and cities across the country.
The General Department of Taxation highly appreciated the results of the investigation of the case. The case has contributed to the fight against the crime of illegal trading of invoices and tax evasion, contributing to increasing the state budget revenue.
Along with that, the General Department of Taxation acknowledges the recommendations to overcome the causes and conditions for crimes in the field of tax and invoices from the investigation agency, and will study and further improve legal policies to improve the effectiveness in preventing and combating tax crimes in general and invoices in particular.
Regarding invoice management, the General Department of Taxation is testing to deploy data analysis and risk management applications to develop invoice management methods, using artificial intelligence (AI) to promptly detect chains (ecosystems) of businesses established to buy and sell invoices to commit fraud and appropriate tax money from the State.
At the same time, the General Department of Taxation also proposed to amend and supplement Decree No. 123/2020 of the Government regulating invoices and documents to perfect regulations related to the management and use of electronic invoices and supplement solutions to prevent and limit invoice fraud.
In addition, the General Department of Taxation also regularly monitors, guides and directs tax authorities at all levels to strengthen coordination with the police.
In case tax management determines that the taxpayer has signs of violating the law, the tax authority must collect documents and consolidate complete legal records to transfer to the police agency for consideration and handling according to its authority.
