Police raided 4 soccer betting dens during Euro season

On July 6, Buon Ma Thuot City Police ( Dak Lak ) said that the unit had just successfully dismantled a large-scale online football betting ring for Euro 2024.

Early morning of July 4, the Criminal Police Team of Buon Ma Thuot City Police mobilized 30 officers and soldiers divided into 4 working groups to simultaneously raid 4 locations in the area and bring related subjects to headquarters for clarification.

Initially, it was determined that Tran Quang Hieu (34 years old, residing in Tan Tien ward, Buon Ma Thuot city) was the leader of this ring.

At the beginning of the Euro 2024 season, Hieu contacted an unknown person in Khanh Hoa province, bought a general betting account and divided it into 9 small accounts, and assigned them to subjects in the football betting organization line.

After each match, the subjects will delete all messages and information exchanged related to betting.

Authorities clarified that this line transacted football betting with an amount of up to more than 1 billion VND per day. Since the beginning of the Euro 2024 season, it has been more than 20 billion VND.

Buon Ma Thuot City Police have decided to temporarily detain 8 subjects to investigate the acts of Gambling and Organizing Gambling.
