'Rain' of awards for Vietnam at World Travel Awards

Vietnam continues to be honored as Asia's Leading Destination 2023 and Asia's Leading Nature Destination 2023 at the World Travel Awards 2023.

The World Travel Awards 2023: Asia - Oceania or World Travel Awards Asia - Oceania took place before the 17th Ho Chi Minh City International Travel Expo 2023 (ITE HCMC 2023). The ITE HCMC 2023 event opened on the morning of September 7. This year, Vietnam and its destinations continued to be named in important categories in the Asia and Oceania regions. Many destinations and tourism businesses from Thailand, India, Taiwan (China), Australia... were also honored at the award ceremony. At the national level, Vietnam was honored as Asia's Leading Destination 2023 and Asia's Leading Nature Destination 2023. At the local level, Ho Chi Minh City received a "double" of awards for the nominations "Asia's Leading Business Travel Destination" and "Asia's Leading Festival & Event Destination". According to the World Travel Awards, Ho Chi Minh City is a dynamic city that attracts tourists thanks to its blend of past and present. Tourists can wander through alleys or bustling markets, or explore shopping malls located in skyscrapers, or visit famous historical landmarks. In addition, the award highly appreciates the city's potential when it has all the elements to explode, becoming one of the venues for major international events.

In addition, provinces and cities also received many outstanding awards such as: Ha Nam was named “Vietnam’s Leading Cultural Destination” and “Asia’s Leading Regional Cultural Destination”. Moc Chau was named “Vietnam’s Leading Natural Destination” and “Asia’s Leading Natural Destination”. The capital Hanoi was honored in 3 categories: “Asia’s Leading Resort Destination”, “Asia’s Leading City Destination” and “Asia’s Leading City Tourism Authority”; Phu Quoc was named “Asia’s Leading Luxury Island Destination”. This is the third time Vietnam has been chosen to host the WTA awards ceremony, an opportunity for Vietnamese tourism to continue to raise its international profile as well as affirm the position of the destination.
