Techcombank Chairman's daughter registered to buy more than 82 million shares

According to information released by the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE), Ms. Ho Thuy Anh, daughter of Mr. Ho Hung Anh - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Techcombank, registered to buy more than 82 million shares of this bank (stock code TCB) for personal use. The transaction is expected to be carried out from August 25 to September 19 by order matching and negotiation.

If the transaction is successful, the daughter of Techcombank Chairman Ho Hung Anh will increase the number of TCB shares held from 22.47 million to 104.66 million units, equivalent to 2.9757% of Techcombank's capital.

Previously, Ms. Ho Thuy Anh bought more than 22.47 million TCB shares by negotiation from July 12 to July 16. It is estimated that Ms. Thuy Anh had to spend more than VND 1,100 billion to carry out this transaction.

At the close of trading on August 23, Techcombank's TCB shares reached VND33,200. It is estimated that at this price, the daughter of Techcombank's Chairman will have to spend nearly VND2,800 billion to buy the registered number of shares.

Mr. Ho Hung Anh personally owns more than 39.3 million TCB shares, equivalent to an ownership ratio of nearly 1.12%. In addition, his wife, children and relatives also own many TCB shares such as Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, his wife, owns more than 174 million shares; Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thanh Tam, his mother, owns more than 174 million shares...

Mr. Ho Hung Anh himself is one of the USD billionaires in Vietnam. According to Forbes , his current asset value is 1.5 billion USD - ranked 4th out of 6 USD billionaires in Vietnam. Compared to half a year ago, according to Forbes ' 2023 rich list, Mr. Ho Hung Anh's assets have not changed. However, compared to more than 1 year ago, this billionaire's assets have evaporated 800 million USD.

At the end of the first 6 months of this year, the bank recorded consolidated profit after tax of more than VND 9,040 billion, down nearly 22% over the same period last year.
