Ms. Hoa said that her daughter's choice of majoring in International Relations at the Diplomatic Academy is very suitable for the field of traditional music that Thao Nguyen is pursuing.
"Traditional music performers often tour in other countries, so studying alongside their music would be very beneficial," Ms. Hoa emphasized.
Previously, Thao Nguyen achieved a perfect score of 10 in the intermediate level zither major at the Vietnam National Academy of Music.
Besides Thao Nguyen, Trong Tan also has a son, Tan Dat, 20 years old, who is currently studying Vocal Music at the Vietnam National Academy of Music. Tan Dat is passionate about singing and songwriting and has appeared in several programs with his father.
Trong Tan frequently discusses academic matters with his children. He always closely monitors and supports them during exams. His wife is stricter, setting high academic goals for their children.
Trong Tan, 48 years old this year, rose to fame after winning first prize in the 1999 Sao Mai singing competition. He is associated with many patriotic and revolutionary songs such as "Tiếng đàn bầu" (Nguyen Dinh Phuc), "Tình ta biển bạc đồng xanh " (Hoang Song Huong), and "Nơi đảo xa" (The Song). He is a harmonious duet partner with Anh Tho and also part of the revolutionary music trio along with Dang Duong and Viet Hoan. His wife, Thanh Hoa, is his childhood friend and has always supported Trong Tan in his work.
