Previously, on August 25, 2022, the Nam Giang District Police (Quang Nam) rescued a Javan pangolin with multiple injuries and handed it over to the Vinpearl River Safari Nam Hoi An Animal Rescue Center for reception and care.

On December 13, 2023, another Javan pangolin was handed over to the Center by the Tien Phuoc District Forest Protection Department, Quang Nam. These pangolins belong to the Javan pangolin species - Manis Javanica, Group IB.

After a period of care and nurturing at Vinpearl River Safari Nam Hoi An Animal Rescue Center, a Javan pangolin gave birth to a baby.

Currently, the baby pangolin is being monitored for weight and regular medical indicators, and the baby pangolin weighs 211 grams.

Previously, in early 2023, a mother Javan pangolin also gave birth, opening up the opportunity to reproduce this rare wildlife species in the wild.

According to Wikipedia, the Javan pangolin is a mammal belonging to the order Pholidota native to Southeast Asia including Thailand, Indonesia (the islands of Java, Sumatra, Borneo and the Lesser Sunda Islands), the Philippines, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia and Singapore.

The Javan pangolin has scales covering its body, leaving only the belly and the inside of its limbs. These areas have sparse hair. Its feet have long, curved claws. Its tail is quite long, more than 4/10 of its length. The tail is strong and fleshy; the tip of the tail has smooth skin, which can be used to cling to tree branches when climbing. The average pangolin is 77.5–100 cm long.

The Javan pangolin belongs to group IB, listed in the Red Book of the International Union for Conservation of Nature as a "globally endangered" species. It is a rare, endangered wild animal, so it is listed as an endangered species, strictly prohibited from hunting, trading and consuming.
