With the affection, heart, and deep gratitude of the Party Committee, government, departments, branches, organizations, and the whole community for the sacrifices and contributions of heroic martyrs, wounded and sick soldiers... the lives of families of meritorious people in the province have been cared for, both materially and spiritually.
Heroic Vietnamese mother Cao Thi Hoi in Dong Phu village (Ninh Khang commune, Hoa Lu district) is at a rare age, no longer as agile as before but still clearly hears questions from her children, grandchildren and visitors.
When mentioning her two sons, martyrs Nguyen Duy Chuy and Nguyen Duy Chuy, tears rolled down Mother's wrinkled cheeks.
In the story of remembering and forgetting, and needing the support of her youngest son, Mother Cao Thi Hoi recalled the last time she saw Mr. Chuy, which was when he finished his training course and marched with his unit through Ninh Binh. That day, Mother and a neighbor whose son had joined the army with the unit went to the train station to see him. The meeting was brief, Mr. Chuy only had time to quickly give Mother a thin blanket and a pair of pants to send to his younger siblings before boarding the train to follow his unit to the front line.
In 1974 and 1978, Mother Hoi and her family received death notices for two of her children, one in the Southeast battlefield and one in the Cambodian battlefield. Pain piled on pain as she received the news of her children's sacrifices, struggling to live to continue raising them to be good people. Mother Hoi received the attention, encouragement and sharing of the deep gratitude of many groups and individuals from the province to the grassroots.
In 2010, Mother received support from the Party Committee, the government, and local organizations in renovating and building a spacious and solid house. On holidays, New Year, and anniversaries, Mother also always received affection and practical and meaningful gifts from units inside and outside the province.
This July, the "Red Flower Color" Program in collaboration with Hoa Lu District and Trang An Ninh Binh Company Limited presented Mother with a savings book. The Provincial Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs and the Hoa Lu District Social Policy Bank also gave meaningful gifts to Mother. In particular, understanding the pain of losing loved ones and until now there is no information on finding the remains of the two martyrs, the Provincial Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs is still making efforts to search and connect information...
In Hamlet 2, Lac Van Commune (Nho Quan), everyone knows about the case of the family of martyr Vu Van Thiep, who died in 1966 on the Southern front, who was helped by the Provincial Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs to find the martyr's grave after nearly 50 years without news.
Ms. Vu Thi Hoa, the second daughter who is directly worshiping martyr Vu Van Thiep, shared: The pain of losing our father seems to have multiplied when for nearly 50 years, although the family searched everywhere, there was still no result. In 2015, the family's greatest wish was to welcome our father back to rest in his hometown. This came true when after many years of searching, with the help of the Provincial Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs and many other agencies, units and localities, the family found and welcomed the remains of martyr Vu Van Thiep from the Martyrs' Cemetery of Hoai Hao Ward, Hoai Nhon Town (Binh Dinh Province) back to rest in his hometown cemetery.
My family always receives the attention, love, sharing, and help of the local government, neighbors, teachers, and friends. The four of us encourage each other to study hard, work hard, and teach our children and grandchildren to be successful in their studies to be worthy of the contributions and sacrifices of our grandfathers and fathers...
Every July, the small house - the place of worship for martyr Vu Van Thiep - is always crowded with children and grandchildren. The faces of students, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of the martyr, gather with their families to pay their respects, light incense sticks to their maternal grandparents, and report on their year of studying and training.
Nguyen Van Tho, a second-year student at the Military Technical Academy, confided: Since I was little, my grandmother and mother have told me many stories about my grandfather and his comrades who fought bravely and sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland so that our young generation today can live in peace. I am always proud of my family's tradition, grateful for the sacrifices and contributions of the heroic martyrs and always remind myself to strive to continue the tradition and become a soldier of the Vietnam People's Army. During my years at Nho Quan B High School, I always tried to practice and study well and was honored to be admitted to the Communist Party of Vietnam in grade 12. Being admitted to the Military Technical Academy, I have fulfilled my dream of standing in the ranks of the soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army like my grandfather...
