On the afternoon of June 22, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Antiquities Association and a number of domestic collectors organized an exhibition of Antiquities gathered inside Kien Trung Palace.

The exhibition has the participation of 29 domestic antique collectors, introducing 147 antiques and artifacts selected from collections of material groups such as enamelware, ceramics, precious metals, and wood.

These are antiques and artifacts crafted under the Nguyen Dynasty, used in both the royal court and among the people.

Antiques crafted by the royal court's statue bureau or by domestic production facilities (such as mai tree pottery, wooden furniture, etc.).

Some antiques were ordered and purchased from abroad for use in the royal palace and among the people (such as some enamel and porcelain items)...

Inside the splendid space of the million-dollar palace, hundreds of tourists came to admire the rare antiques carefully preserved by collectors.

In particular, a cannon cast under the reign of King Minh Mang was introduced to the public for the first time.

This gun is named Vu Cong Tuong Quan , ranked 256th out of 300 guns cast during the reign of King Minh Mang.

The gun was discovered by a group of three fishermen in Thuan An sea (Hue city) and handed over to the Hue Royal Antiquities Museum for preservation.

Also at the exhibition, Mr. Hoang Viet Trung, director of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center, presented 150 million VND from socialized sources to the group of fishermen who discovered and presented the valuable cannon.

The exhibition of Convergence of Antiquities takes place from now until July 21, at Kien Trung Palace, Hue Imperial City.
