On December 30, in Hanoi, Mr. Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Delegation, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, chaired the Conference to announce decisions on the organization and personnel of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the spirit of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW.
Accordingly, on December 29, on behalf of the Central Executive Committee, Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu signed and issued Decision No. 217-QD/TW on the functions, tasks, and organizational structure of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
This Decision replaces Decision No. 120-QD/TW dated September 6, 2023 of the 13th Politburo on functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; effective from the date of signing.
According to Decision No. 120-QD/TW, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has the function of advising and assisting the Committee, the Presidium, and the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in implementing the provisions of the Law on the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Charter of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and relevant regulations of the Party and State; at the same time, it is a specialized and professional agency for the work of the Front.
Regarding the organizational structure, the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front includes: Chairman and full-time Vice Chairmen. The Vice Chairman - General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front is assigned as the Head of the Agency.
Regarding the organizational structure, the specialized departments and units include: Organization - Personnel Department; Democracy, Supervision and Social Criticism Department; Propaganda Department; Social Mobilization Department; Ethnic, Religious and Overseas Vietnamese Department; Agency Office.
Career unit: Dai Doan Ket Newspaper.
Organization supporting religious activities: Office of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee.
The Standing Committee establishes Advisory Councils, implements the regime of experts, seconded officers, and collaborators to serve the activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
The staffing of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front shall be considered and decided by the competent authority based on the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Agency.
Based on the organizational structure of Decision No. 217-QD/TW, the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has awarded the Decision on Head of Department and Unit to the appointed officials. The appointment period is 5 years from January 1, 2025.
Accordingly, Ms. Nong Thi Mai Huyen, Chief of Office of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Party Committee, was transferred and appointed to the position of Head of the Organization and Personnel Department.
Mr. Cao Xuan Thao, Head of the Movement Committee, was appointed to the position of Head of the Social Mobilization Committee (under the new name).
Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Head of the Organization and Personnel Department, was transferred and appointed to the position of Head of the Department of Ethnic Minorities, Religions and Overseas Vietnamese.
Mr. Vu Thanh Nam, Editor-in-Chief of the Vietnamese Catholic Newspaper, was transferred, appointed, and held the position of Chief of Office of the Vietnamese Catholic Solidarity Committee.
Mr. Truong Thanh Trung, Editor-in-Chief of the Front Magazine, was transferred, appointed, and held the position of Editor-in-Chief of the Great Unity Newspaper.
