The lucky winner of this prize can choose to receive a lump sum of approximately $621 million before taxes or receive the full amount, which includes an initial payment and 29 installments over the following 29 years.
In addition to this prize, seven other people won $1 million each in the states of Arizona, Delaware, Florida, Iowa, Massachusetts, Michigan, and Wyoming. These winners matched only five white balls.
Powerball lottery tickets are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.
The largest Powerball jackpot, and the biggest in US lottery history, was worth $2.04 billion. The lucky winner won the jackpot in November 2022 in California.
