After Tet, you should eat in moderation, reduce protein, fat and greasy foods, add vegetables and fruits to detoxify the body, do not use functional foods or drugs.

Tet is the longest holiday to rest and eat well. People tend to consume more alcohol, soft drinks, high-protein foods and lack of exercise, increasing the risk of disease.

Doctor Nguyen Van Thanh, Department of Internal Medicine, Hanoi Medical University, said that consuming too much food makes the liver and kidneys unable to eliminate toxins, causing more toxins to accumulate. Therefore, it is necessary to purify and regenerate energy, the safest way is through diet.

First, everyone needs to quickly re-establish a healthy diet, especially those with high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, dyslipidemia, kidney disease, overweight and obesity. Limit eating a lot of sugar, sweets, fried foods with a lot of oil and fat that cause bloating and indigestion, which can increase blood sugar and dyslipidemia. Limit carbonated drinks and alcoholic beverages or consume only in small amounts, avoid "overdrinking".

Eating too much protein-rich foods such as meat, fish, eggs, and milk is also harmful to the kidneys, so you should reduce it. Drink enough water, eat more fresh fruit and yogurt to reduce bloating and indigestion.

Eat a lot of green vegetables 240-320g/day, ripe fruit 240g/day. People who are overweight, obese, have blood glucose disorders, diabetes should limit sweet and high-energy ripe fruits such as bananas, mangoes, jackfruit, lychees...

Don't snack at night. Don't eat cakes, jams, or sweets. Reduce salty foods like pickles, salted eggplants... Eat no more than 5 grams of salt a day.

After Tet, you should restart your daily exercise routine. Doctor Nguyen Huy Hoang, Hyperbaric Oxygen Center, Ministry of National Defense, recommends that everyone should exercise at a moderate intensity, at least 150 minutes per week. Healthy people should walk three kilometers or more per day, then increase the intensity of their exercise. You can do light exercise, jogging, swimming or yoga, meditation depending on your preferences.

In case of chronic illness or health problems, you should consult your doctor for a suitable and safe exercise regimen. For example, the elderly should exercise lightly indoors, in a covered place or if going outdoors, they should wear a hat, warm clothes, scarf, and gloves.

People need to keep their bodies and respiratory tracts warm, avoid catching a cold and reduce the risk of respiratory infections such as flu.

Doctors advise people not to believe in detox products that are widely available online, which can make the body more vulnerable to damage and poisoning. Do not detoxify by using anal or colon enemas. Do not abuse herbal medicine or use too much steam.

Returning to work after Tet, everyone needs to keep a relaxed spirit, reduce stress, and get enough sleep to keep the body healthy. Limit stimulants, cigarettes, alcohol, and beer. Have a health check-up every 6 months.
