The People's Committee of Da Nang City has just organized the International Cooperation Workshop on Promoting Business Investment to Take Advantage of New Trends. The event is within the framework of the Forum of Friendship and Cooperation Cities - Da Nang 2025.
Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Mr. Ho Ky Minh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, said that in the past time, despite many difficulties and challenges, Da Nang City has made efforts to maximize its internal strength, combined with external strength, and strengthened international cooperation to promote development, affirming the role of the economic growth pole of the Central Highlands - Central region of Vietnam.
In particular, Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15 on the organization of urban government and piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Da Nang City officially took effect on January 1, 2025, marking an important milestone in the development process of Da Nang City with new development drivers... At the same time, Da Nang was also selected to pilot the development of a regional-scale financial center.
“Faced with new opportunities, new opportunities and advantages, Da Nang hopes that partners, the business community and investors will continue to promote cooperation, investment and business activities in the city, especially in the areas where you have strengths and Da Nang is focusing on developing such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, innovation, Free Trade Zone, International Financial Center”, said Mr. Minh.
Regarding investment opportunities in the new context, Ms. Le Thi Tuyet Mai, Deputy Director of the Danang Investment Promotion and Support Board (IPA Danang), said that from 2023, semiconductors and artificial intelligence are identified as new driving forces to create breakthrough development for Danang in the coming time.

Based on its existing strengths, Da Nang aims to become one of the three leading semiconductor and artificial intelligence centers in Vietnam by 2030; successfully attracting at least 20 semiconductor design enterprises and 1 to 2 packaging and testing enterprises.
Regarding the Free Trade Zone, the IPA representative informed that Da Nang City is currently researching and planning 10 locations to develop the Free Trade Zone with 3 functional zones: production zone, trade - service zone and logistics zone. Da Nang City is calling for strategic investors in these zones and investors investing here will also enjoy incentives as well as outstanding investment support such as the project's operating period of up to 70 years; enjoy preferential customs regimes and incentives on exemption and reduction of land rent, corporate income tax, etc.
Regarding the development of a regional financial center, the Deputy Director of IPA Da Nang said that Da Nang will be built with a multi-component ecosystem, focusing on attracting, developing and providing modern financial services such as Fintech services, investment support services and startup business development, crypto asset management, digital banking...
At the workshop, representatives of the Department of Science and Information Technology shared policies to promote startups and innovation; the Department of Information and Communications shared policies to develop semiconductor microchips and artificial intelligence in Da Nang City to investment funds, businesses, and domestic and foreign investors.
In particular, Mr. Le Xuan Phong, Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications, conveyed the message to investors and businesses that the City wants to attract investment through human resources and the locality is doing all solutions, including the support of strategic partners and universities to focus on training human resources to meet market needs and business recruitment.
