The program "Reinventing the world with French" selected 11th grade students studying French in Ho Chi Minh City, including Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School and Marie Curie, to participate in the form of interviews.
Nine students from the above schools will join nine students from Laos and nine students from Cambodia in three study tours and exchanges in three countries on the topic of sustainable development.
The 27 students will have the opportunity to visit Vientiane, Laos, for 4 days at the end of May, then Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, for 4 days at the beginning of June, followed by Phnom Penh, Cambodia (the itinerary here is still being planned). All expenses will be covered by the organizers.
Throughout the program, students will participate in interactive workshops and explore collaborative projects that encourage them to develop innovative solutions to environmental problems. They will learn how to analyze environmental problems and design effective action strategies when they return home.
Through workshops together, students will explore the richness of cultural diversity while focusing on a common goal: solving global environmental challenges.
Ms. Anne-Laure Vincent, French language cooperation commissioner of the French Institute in Ho Chi Minh City, said that in addition to promoting French language learning and environmental awareness, the program also aims to promote the creative and academic aspects of French, in addition to the romantic side that people often see.
Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online , Diem Hanh from Marie Curie School said she was very excited to interact with Lao and Cambodian friends. Although her French is not very fluent, she was chosen because she showed her love for the language.
