Kindergarten teacher Lan Vy in a free dance class for children

At 4:30 pm every Tuesday and Thursday, the activity area of neighborhood 3, Tan Quy Ward, Tan Phu District, Ho Chi Minh City is bustling with the sounds of children playing. About 20 children, from kindergarten to junior high school, eagerly await the dance lesson of kindergarten teacher Le Truc Lan Vy (Bong Sen Kindergarten, Tan Quy Ward). Children not only get to immerse themselves in cute dances, but are also taught skills to perform in front of a crowd, confidence, and connect with friends.

Le Truc Lan Vy, 25 years old, has been a kindergarten teacher for 4 years. Always active, creative, and fond of traveling, during the kindergarten summer break, this young teacher participates in summer activities in Tan Quy Ward and is in charge of free dance classes for children in the ward. Whenever there are cultural activities in the neighborhood or ward, the kindergarten teacher is the one who choreographs the dance performances and leads the students to perform successfully.

"Working with children always makes me feel very comfortable. During the summer days when I don't go to school to work, I miss my students very much. Teaching them to dance and laughing with them makes me feel like I can do many meaningful things," Lan Vy said.

Moments from a jackfruit

Le Truc Lan Vy said that she has a talent for dancing, singing, and jumping, and is a confident and active person, but she never thought she would become a preschool teacher. Following her mother's advice, she studied preschool education, but even when she was in school, she still could not imagine that raising children could be so difficult.

Until one day, there was an unexpected moment that made her realize that this was happiness in the job she had chosen.

"On the first day I went to the kindergarten for my internship, I was so shocked that I just wanted to cry and didn't know what to do. Children threw up all over me, one child pooped right in the middle of the classroom. The next day, a child with indigestion threw up all over me, I carried the child to the toilet, bathed him, changed his clothes and cleaned the classroom. Many people say that kindergarten teachers only need to teach children to dance, sing, draw... But that is just a part of the countless tasks they do every day, from cleaning the classroom, making teaching aids, decorating the classroom, organizing the classroom, training discipline and skills for children, feeding and sleeping children, cleaning children...", the young teacher said.

A class has about 30 children and 2 teachers. The first lesson of a preschool teacher when she first graduates and starts working in real life is to patiently learn the profession, observe how experienced teachers take care of and raise children to learn. Many of Lan Vy's friends have dropped out of their internship, temporarily stopped studying preschool education right when the internship had just begun because they could not overcome the shock of children vomiting, pooping, crying, and making a fuss in the classroom.

However, Lan Vy said that after finishing her internship, passing the teacher recruitment exam and officially starting work, she still did not feel happy during the first few days. "Even though I still went to school on time every day and did my job, I still did not feel fulfilled."

"That day, I had to go on a business trip outside. In the afternoon, when I returned to the class, the children rushed out and happily greeted the teacher. I wondered what was going on, but the children all hugged a piece of jackfruit, gave it to me, and competed to show off, "Miss Vy, Miss Vy, we'll share a piece with you." My colleague recounted that today the school let the children experience picking ripe jackfruit from the tree in the schoolyard and enjoy it together. The students insisted that the teacher leave a piece of jackfruit for Miss Vy to eat. When I heard that, my nose stung. At that moment, I felt like I was awakened. I knew that I was lucky and had chosen the right career to dedicate myself to," the 25-year-old preschool teacher emotionally recounted.

Children call their teacher to invite them to go out for coffee.

Kindergarten teacher Lan Vy is mostly assigned to teach classes Chòi (4-5 years old) and Lá (5-6 years old). Being attached to children for a long time, loving children, being creative in activities in class and school, the "cute" teacher is loved by many children.

Many children in the La class cried when they said goodbye to their kindergarten teacher to enter the first grade. During the summer break, when school was closed, many children asked their mothers to come and learn from Ms. Lan Vy, who taught free dance lessons. Many children stayed home for too long, and even borrowed their parents' phones to call her and invite her to go out for coffee because they wanted to see her...

The young teacher said that the love of children gives preschool teachers more motivation to stick with and love their chosen profession. Every profession has its hardships, but if you do it seriously and with all your heart, you will find happiness...
