70,600 train tickets have been sold to passengers during the April 30 - May 1 holiday.

According to VNR's report, as of April 15, 70,600 train tickets were sold during the April 30-May 1 holiday, accounting for about 59% of the number of tickets supplied during this holiday.

“The number of passengers concentrated on taking the train on April 29-30 at Hanoi and Saigon stations to tourist destinations. On the return trip, passengers mainly took the train on May 3-4 to return to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Tickets for other train days during the holiday are still available,” said a VNR representative.

In order to meet the travel needs of passengers during the April 30 - May 1 holiday, the Railway Transport Joint Stock Company organizes train operations on the Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City route, including: Thong Nhat passenger trains running daily with 5 pairs of trains (SE1/2, SE3/4, SE5/6, SE7/8, SE11/12). Regional passenger trains run daily with the following pairs: SE19/20 (Hanoi-Da Nang), SE22/21 (Saigon-Da Nang), SNT2/1 (Saigon-Nha Trang), SPT2/1 (Saigon-Phan Thiet), Central Heritage Connection trains HD1/2/3/4 (Hue-Da Nang), NA1/2 (Hanoi-Vinh).

In addition, the Railway Transport Joint Stock Company organizes additional train trips: Saigon-Da Nang will run 4 more trains SE28/27, SE34/33. Saigon-Quy Nhon will run 12 more trains. Saigon-Nha Trang will run 6 more trains. Saigon-Phan Thiet will run 4 more trains. Hanoi-Da Nang will run 2 more trains. Hanoi-Dong Hoi will run 4 more trains.

Hanoi-Lao Cai route runs 2 pairs of trains/day. Hanoi-Hai Phong runs 4 pairs of trains/day; additional trains HP3, LP9 from May 30-1; LP10, HD2, HP4 from May 2-4. Da Lat-Trai Mat Station route organizes daily operation of one pair of trains DL3/4, DL7/8, DL9/10 and additional pairs of trains DL1/2, DL5/6, DL11/12 on Da Lat-Trai Mat Station route to serve passenger transport needs.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, the Railway industry organized the running of a pair of special trains named "The Reunification Train".

Specifically, on April 29, train SE1 departs from Hanoi station and train SE4 departs from Saigon station. The two trains will meet on April 30 at Da Nang station.

The Railway Industry organized a program to see off the "Reunification Train" at Hanoi and Saigon stations and a program to welcome the two trains meeting at Da Nang station. The Railway Industry prepared many attractive gifts for passengers on this historic train.

In addition, discount policies for social policy beneficiaries, the elderly, children, students, union members, and round-trip tickets are still applied to passengers during the April 30-May 1 holiday./.
