On the other hand, Hanoi Police Club is only in 5th place (29 points), 7 points behind the leading team Nam Dinh (36 points). There are only 7 rounds left in the tournament, so the chance for Mr. Polking and his team to win the championship is not much.

The National Cup and the ASEAN Club Championship are now the salvage fronts. Choosing which front, between familiar opponents who are rated lower, and international clubs of unknown strength, is a problem that Mr. Polking and his students understand.

The National Cup title is not unfamiliar to coach Chu Dinh Nghiem, as he had great success in the era of leading Hanoi Club. Winning titles when leading a weaker team is the painful goal that Mr. Nghiem is pursuing. During 3 years leading Hai Phong, the strategist from Thanh Hoa has not won any titles, although there was a time when he was very close to winning the 2022 V-League championship, the season Hai Phong won second place.

Put on the scale, Hai Phong of course cannot compare in strength with Hanoi Police Club. But in football, surprises can always happen, in a match whose success or failure has a decisive meaning to the outcome of the season for the two clubs.
